Mr. Abell is a really nice teacher. He is very smart, and knows a lot about what he is teaching. I think sometimes he might not communicate an idea clearly, but overall he is a great teacher!

Comment:

I had this professor for 3 different classes (BIOT, Cults, Minor Prophets). He is a good, creative teacher. His courses aren't easy, but they do make you grow. The college has a strict grading standard on papers, and Mr. Abell sticks to that standard. But this shouldn't be a criticism. It is hard to get an A, but that's how it should be.

He was very intelligent. Almost everything he went over in class was not on any test except for the maps. Only the test reviews were helpful and there were also questions on the test thst were nonexistent in our books and notes.

To get an A, you REALLY have to know it, because most questions on tests are general, but unless you know a lot of details you'll end up with a B. A little harsh on papers, where because I didn't have topic sentances in a few paragraphs, I lost like, 5% of my entire grade on one paper. Ouch

I was looking forward to this Cults class, but was disappointed. Much of our time was spent in "group projects" that pretty much consisted sitting around talking.My biggest disappointment was when I asked for an extension on a paper because I had been out of class with the flu for a week, including a trip to the ER, and he refused to give it. :(

I bid you no mean that he is a great guy OUT OF THE CLASS ROOM but during class he is unclear and takes 50 minutes to say somthing that could be said in 5 minutes. Gods word is living-so dont kill it. :)
