Dr. Frank is an amazing professor. I have learned so much from him. He truly cares about his students, and is willing to help you no matter if you are failing or an A student. I would take any class he offered.

Awesome professor. His class is difficult but he definitely made me interested in philosophy when I had no prior interest in the subject. Extremely kind and overall an awesome professor!

Dr. Frank's sense of humor is dry, but amazing. Explains excellently for the philosophy impaired, but obviously loves the subject deeply. The type of guy you wouldn't mind having for your grandfather.

Chickenhood!!! Who can match Dr. Frank? He is both a good man and an exceptional professor. I studied Phil of Man with him in Rome and he was exceptional. He not only made the work clear, but he was alwasy available for a talk and an explanation so long as you were serious about wanting help.

Comment:
If there were a "Phil for Engineers" class, Dr. Frank would teach it. He does a good job of condensing the texts down to their major points, which he explains clearly. You learn a good deal, but the class is not very intense; there is daily reading, and occasional easy quizzes, but beyond that our class only took two tests and wrote no papers.

At first you hate him, but that's because he's not easy. He is a genius and a darn good teacher. Most people don't realize that he takes the side of who you're reading so you can really understand what they're saying-he argues their argument and won't give in to yours unless it's perfectly clear and logically correct. Take him if you are have balls

he and his wife grade in tandem, it would seem. so if you're taking them both, keep both on your good side. this is best done by a little trick i call 'pandering.' DO NOT ask him about his turtle face. points deducted for attempting to scare me straight with my official transcript as though we were on the WB.

Wonderful teacher, does funny voices. Sure there are multiple choice tests, but they're just quote IDs. If you've read the material, you're golden.

Yeah, multiple choice tests for philosophy? That was REALLY weird! Some questions on each test were always contested (they were poorly thought-out or unclear). Difficult to do well.

he's organized and knows what he's talking about, but multiple choice philosophy tests are just weird. if you skim the readings and take notes, you should do fine in the class

Very funny man, and truly a philosopher. I love his class even if it is my worst grade. Maybe not the best teacher, but he truly has a full understanding of what he teaches and is completely approachable. Tests are a ****.

Dont let his good old boy persona/Jack Handy one-liners fool you. He puts on a show, but he is something of a haughty dilettante. Has spent too much time in Rome.
