Probably my favorite teacher so far! She knew exactly what she was doing and how to teach it. She was very nice and helpful and made corny jokes which I always laughed at... I wish she was teaching 1046 over the summer. She does grade hard, but because she wants you to learn from the mistakes you made. If you go to class it wasn't hard to get an A

Amazing professor. Mrs. Zimmerman really cares about the grades her students get and really strives to make sure every one learns the material. Holds study sessions as well, even on the weekend. Would be happy to take her for 1046 if she wasn't retiring.

Pay attention. Print out her lecture outlines and take notes on them. Review quizzes and class examples for tests. She was so easy grading-wise. Remember to write the formula you use (which was always given) at the beginning of word problems. I only needed a 55 on my final to keep an A... it was a nice chem class compared to chem in high school.

Grades extremely hard when it comes to lab reports. I met with her every week during her office hours and still got a B- on most of my lab reports. The practical was extremely difficult and she provides no help during labs throughout the course. She pretty much expects you to know everything from your CHM1046 lecture class already.

A fantastic teacher and a lovely person! She is great at taking complicated topics and making them clear and interesting, without oversimplifying. She really cares about her students' success, so she gives lots of individual attention. Exams/quizzes are not tricky at all if you study over everything she gives out. Funny and cute, too! I made an A!

Wasn't sure what to expect coming into this class, but I'm really glad I took her. Does not waste any time. Everything she goes over is on the test. Will not surprise you with random questions on quizzes or tests. Recitations are mandatory but if you go you will definitely pass all quizzes and tests. Great lecture teacher!!!

Gives notes, study guide tells you whats on the test, practice in recitation helps a lot! She truly cares about her students understanding of the subject, all you have to do is take the time to ask her for help (she doesn't mind going over it a few times). I used the book a lot because I got behind in class. I still go to her for help in CHM1046 :)

Very intelligent and diligent woman, give tons of extra credit if the class avg is bad on exams/quizzes, always there to help you out, very clear on subjects, and fast pace. If my major required more of chem, i would've taken her without hesitation. Also, master your algebra and you're 70% away from understanding the course!

She was very helpful in class, got to know the students and gave individual attention. She gave a lot of extra credit, so it was easy to make a passing grade in her class. Chem is not an easy subject, but she made it tolerable. She's very nice as well!

Very good teacher. Kind grading policies and lots of opportunities to boost your grade for someone like me that is a poor test taker but otherwise a pretty good student. Be prepared though: You will not do well if your algebra is not up to par!

Comment:

Zimmerman is an amazing teacher who really cares about the progress of her students. She sets aside even her personal time to help her student's success. The only thing that I found difficult with this teacher, is that she speaks VERY fast, and you're forced to try to keep up with the material.

I am taking her for lab. This is my first chem class ever. I am struggling. She teachs her lab as if we have done all this stuff before. She doesnt explain anything. We get thrown into a lab experiment and we have to figure it out ourselves. Her grading is different, sometimes not fair.

Chemistry is a hard class, to pass it takes a lot of studying and a lot of time, but she is an AMAZING teacher, she cares about her students and do what it takes to help you, if you don't pay attention and go to class from the beginning its impossible to get caught up but over all I would take her again.

All semester I felt like she was teaching us the hardest way possible to do everything. She is a nice lady and cares about the students, but I am not sure i would take another class from her. She gives giant study guides for exams and only puts half of it on the exam!

Her grading of the labs was really frustrating. It has to be so technical. Even though I was one of the 5 people int he lab that knew what he was doing my lab grades hardly reflected my in-class effort. I really wasn't to found of her ridiculous grading and I'm an A+ student -.-
