Comment:

There's only 2-3 quick papers to write, and 3 tests to take. Everything else is just easy daily assignments. I took the 5 week session and it went by FAST. I didn't have to put a lot of effort in and I only lost 8/420 points so far (still waiting on last part of the grade).Easy A and she really cares about her students actually getting the content.

Tough grader, be ready to go the first day of class. Answers all questions and lectures are usually pretty entertaining. Not much you are graded on but the test and writing assignments are huge make or break deals, highly encouraged to ask her any questions you have for clarity. Proof read paper before you turn in. Make a friend in case you miss.

I loved this class and would highly recommend taking it with her! If you attend all the lectures and take notes, you'll do great. Teacher is great and doesn't try to trick you up, she's straight to the point. I fell like I actually learned in her class, while also enjoying my time.

Comment:

Was in her Honors Government class and loved every minute of it. She is so funny and she is very knowledgeable about the subject. She encourages participation and does a great job making everyone feel comfortable sharing. I have learned so much this semester and I am even considering changing my major to government because of her!

Great professor, doesnt use Bb for grades so its up to the student to calculate grades to know where they stand. Uses no Ppts so students take notes by hand. Do the review and ask questions, should be an easy A

Amazing teacher!! Professor Laughlin gave more than enough extra credit-opportunities in class,on test and out of class. Was very nice and patient open to all questions on clarification and more. Showing up to class is very helpful she specifies on criteria that will be covered on the test and you get a easy 20pt of your overall grade.

Prof. Laughlin was honestly one of my favorite professors this semester. She cares about her students, and wants all of them to pass (gives 2 extra credit papers.. and more on the tests). Be sure to show up because if you don't you will get lost.. you honestly don't even need the book. easy A. TAKE HER, I am... again.

Great Professor, as long as you show up to class, take notes and read the textbook you should be fine. She only gives out 3 exams throughout the whole semester, she gives out a study guides for each exam and extra credit. So it shouldn't be hard to pass!

I had Laughlin for the honors section of U.S. Government, and I learned a ton from her. She's super knowledgeable, funny, and personable. Very reasonable expectations. I wish I still needed to take Texas Government; I would sign up for her section in a heartbeat.

I took this as a dual credit, Kids did not appreciate her, but she was good, fair and test straight forward. I would have really enjoyed it in a regular class.

Professor Laughlin is a great professor, BUT... I found her class to be very lecture heavy. I enjoyed it and learned a lot but didn't do well on the tests. The final covers material from the whole semester. Also she doesn't put grades on blackboard. She's just a little all over the place and not that clear on what to study.

Amazing Professor! Had her for Texas Govt, and he was funny, entertaining, and I learned a lot in a chill environment. All her tests were based on lectures. If you did the review for the test then it's an easy A. Has quizzes every so often, but they're not super difficult. Couple of papers, but they were one paged double spaced.

I really liked professor laughlin. She is a very nice person and helps clarify any difficult topics. She does like to pick on people to answer - so be prepared! Overall, her tests arent very hard just make sure to study the review and you will do fine.

A very kind and caring teacher! She makes learning about government a very fun experience! She provides extra credit opportunities and the class is a very open-discussion type of atmosphere. Take good notes in class, the tests are mostly based off of class discussions/lectures. She also gives a review sheet before each test. Overall easy A.

Professor Laughlin is super easy if you attend in class, take good note, follow study guide for the test > You will pass this class with a good grade. Also, she gives a lot of extra credits, one 4-page assignment, and 1-page optional paper (for extra credits).

Laughlin is the best at what she does. She teaches the stuff that's actually important and what you need to know in today's government. A lot of extra credit opportunities, and you don't need a book if you take excellent notes. Plus, she helps out with review questions in class. If you don't get an A in this class, you did something wrong.

Professor Laughlin is an amazing professor! She makes learning about gov't easy and fun. Her lectures are easy to follow and she's hilarious. She provides extra credit if you show up to class or in group assignments. Tests are easy, just do the review and you will get an easy A.

Best professor at ACC. Prof Laughlin has incredibly engaging lectures & I felt like I learned a great deal from her. More interested in making sure students learn than nitpick-y grading & was willing to compromise on test questions that students felt were unfair. Took her for US gov & I am currently enrolled to take her TX gov class next semester!

She is my favorite teacher by far. I did not really care about government until I took this class. She makes it interesting, easy to process and the tests in the end are simple if you do the review. Its a good idea to go to class bc you need notes to do the review, but her class is fun anyway. Very well informed teacher
