Comment:
Loved Dr. Kaiser. She gives great feedback and cares more than any prof I've seen here. The class is a little preachy and largely consists of us patting ourselves on the back for saying nice things about PoC/plus-sized/etc ppl, but it's interesting enough and she makes the best of it . I would recommend Kaiser to anyone. She's a top 3 prof at UCD.

I took this class to complete my minor requirements, and I do have to say it was fairly easy to pass her quizzes and obtain good grades on her essays. But in the end it feels like I didn't learn much in the class as a whole, a lot of the concepts are pretty general and were covered in other classes I've taken in greater detail.

I really liked Prof. Kaiser. She's honestly just so sweet; maybe not 100% the most engaging prof. I've ever had but I definitely didn't find her super boring. She has like a sweet grandma demeanor and is really nice with all of her students. I would take her again.

I don't understand why she got so many low ratings. Lectures are somewhat boring, but she does a good job explaining an already ambiguous subject. MC tests (1 midterm, 1 final) are pretty easy, plus she curves! TA does all the grading. 3 assignments due in discussion. 1 paper + creative project that goes together. Not hard to get an A.

She's passionate about the topic and good at what she does. The material is somewhat awkward but not hard to grasp on it's own, but she offers a couple extra credit opportunities and the exams are pretty easy considering they're kind of common sense. The TA's are the ones that grade the papers, and they're harder then she is. Interesting class

Easiest class. Material is literally common sense, all you have to do is apply the 'terms' you're given. Kaiser herself is really sweet and seems helpful, but no help is really required. Attendance is taken at half the lectures and participation is 30% of the grade, so make sure to at least attend; personally, I got a good 30 minute nap everyday

Dr.Kaiser is a fairly engaging lecturer. She's a little soft-spoken which may add to why people think she's "boring"-unlike Ryan who gets really excited and jumps up and down when he lectures(not a bad thing!). She clearly knows+loves what she's talking about (she did write the class textbook). ps.the class is about how STYLE ITSELF IS AMBIGUOUS...

Comment:
Why is Susun Kaiser a professor? The woman is so boring! She only lectured for about 1 1/2 weeks but my god, was she boring. Worst, is that the days she lectured, were mandatory attendance! She was also repetitive and went over topics that anyone whose lived life would know. I feel sorry for those who are stuck with her for an entire quarter!

so boring and pointless. do not take this class for fun. the only teacher that is worth listening to is Ryan, all the others put you to sleep. the material is all completely ambiguous and doesn't make sense.

Easiest class I have ever taken. Complete waste of time, because the subject itself is so vague and basic any answer you give can be correct. Most appears to be common sense. Lectures will put you to sleep and you probaly know the info. from noticing the society around you. Tests are basic, but the questions themselves can be very confusing.

Class topics were very vague. I stopped going to lectures. I felt it was a waste of my time. You could always read her chapters and get the basic info from them. I haven't received my grade yet, but I'm guessing I passed.

This class is stupid it's very hard to get an A because the subject material is so vague. The tests do NOT make sense, the questions are irrelevant to the class lectures. I went to every lecture and i got a B- and this is supposed to be an easy class!

The subject matter was very vague and it was often difficult to try and figure out what you were supposed to take out of it, if anything. The multiple choice tests were annoying because of the ambiguity. Class was fairly easy.

Well, cultural studies in itself is already a pretty vague concept, so Kaiser tries her best to clarify them. However her lectures do become repetitive and unhelpful, and I often wonder about her argument that textiles is a serious, valid subject.

Terrible lecturer. Repetitive, doesn't show any depthy command of the subject. Completely and utterly uninteresting. No diversified assignments. Uses same phrases/terminology to describe every unclear point...if she even gets so far as to make a point.

Very ambiguous, readings were terrible, not to mention the tests. So rediculous, as was the class as a whole. Term paper was graded so easily I wish I hadn't stressed out about it so much

Talked about random things that has almost nothing to do with the subject and bored me to tears. I so dreaded going to that dumb class. Don't take her class if you know what's good for you. The TAs sucked too.
