Professor Marshik is a wonderful professor. She truly cares about her students and their progress. I struggled a with my papers in the beginning, but with her guidance, I gradually got better and became a more confident writer. I was sad when the class came to an end!

Tried to take a class with her because I needed one more. She barely let me speak to her telling me she was sorry but her class was full. Thank god for professor cooper who invited me into her class even though it was full stating that people will usually drop out in the first week anyway and that I could take a spot if that happened.

Professor Marshik is one of the best professors I have ever encountered throughout my academic career. Her interest in the subject she teaches is matched only by her desire to share this subject with her students. Be prepared to work, strong reading/writing skills are mandatory. Honestly though, having a professor who demands your best is an asset.

Her exceptional organization, concern for students, and modicum of civility are what distinguish her. She is willing and able to help students and her suggestions for essay re-writes are phenominal. I used to hate Shakespeare, but her inspirational teaching made me appreciate him more.

One of the best professors I've ever had the pleasure of having. She was extremely helpful and approachable. She helped me to actually enjoy Shakespeare (an author that i used to abhor) and chose other readings that were useful and interesting. I highly recommend taking her class but she's not an easy A; you actually have to work for your grades.

Marshik is the total package. She grades tough, but fair. Woolf is a tough subject, but she makes it clear. Her lectures have humor and insight, and she's cute in a way. I've taken her 3 times and would again.

Two papers and a take home final. I tried pretty hard on the papers and was only able to get an A- on both. Material includes a lot of poetry, which isn't my thing, but some of the short stories and poems are kind of interesting. Not a terrible lecturer, occasionally provides very interesting insights.

Amazing teacher. I was not interested in WW1 literature at all, however class was so engaging and literature choices so interesting, it quickly became one of my favorite classes. I thought she was extremely fair, cared about the students, and as long as one did the reading essays and quizzes were really quite simple.
