Dont take this professor, she only lasted about one month in my class and got let go because she was reported by multiple students for harassment,yelling at her students and traumatizing them. In her mind if you dont agree with her then youre wrong, and her views on life in general are too over the top, I highly advise you to take someone else.

I can't believe she still teaches here after saying veterans were illiterate rapists. Don't expect a non-bias grade if you're a vet. Google it.

Jodi doesn't use canvas/blackboard so it's tough to know your grade throughout the semester until the end. She is very very funny and seems to care a lot about the class. Make sure you show up to classes and give all the speeches. Get ready to get out of your comfort zone!

The class is very easy as long as you do the simple projects and speeches. She is nice to everyone but some of the things that you have to do in class are ridiculous and pointless.

I took Jodi's public speaking class over the summer. Lots of homework, but the class was very fun and engaging. I don't remember opening the book even once, so buy at your risk. Great teacher, great class, lots of fun.

I really loved Jodi's public speaking class which I took it over the summer. We had 3 formal speeches which were easy, just remember "structure will save you where style will not". Midterm and final were also easy breezy. Jodi is such a nice person and just wants to help her students become comfortable speaking in front of others.

Awesome instructor! Totally recommend this class! Beware it's called GROUP communications for a reason, you have to make time to meet with your group. So if you have commitment issues and aren't a team player, don't take this class! Attendance is mandatory! But, she lets you make up the days you missed!

Read the syllabus. Follow directions. Don't be an idiot. Jodi is an amazing orator. She is entertainment. She has this magical ability to take ANY type of human, no matter how shy or antisocial, and via goofy "get to know your neighbor" exercises, turn them into public speakers. You will leave this class sad that it's over, and with new friends.

Over winter break i took her public speaking class and i loved it! She does talk about herself alot but i thought her stories were super entertaing and helped the long days go by fast. I feel i'm a much more confident public speaker now and would defintly take another class by her again.

Jodi is an amazing instructor. I would gladly take classes with her again. If you want to pass, though, you need to actually do your assigned work and read the syllabus.

I took this class for small groups, main thing you should know is that she requires you to meet with your group for an hour outside of class. I do enjoy her class because you get to interact with every single person & in the beginning you do many social exercises to get to know one another. Besides that she talks about herself a lot.

If you want to sit in a class where she uses the class as her platform to talk about her ex-husbands, activism, and just rants about random things then take this class. But if you want to actually learn stuff about communication, then I suggest you find another professor. The class was easy but I dreaded coming to class.

Personally, I like her a lot. Great choice to get this class checked off my list, but if you are looking to get the most from public speaking take someone else. She's opinionated, liberal, very chatty about her personal life, and you'll get offended if you're not an open minded person. Perfect for beginners and international students.

Jodi has lots of stories, very opinionated, she cares & understands college student struggles. If you are petrified about public speaking class, Jodi is VERY accommodating. Take good notes, book is optional, you will talk to everyone in class at least once. Jodi makes this class as stress free as possible. Be open minded and you will enjoy her.

The class was fine and easy if you do all the speeches. Didn't learn as much as you should. She talks way too much about herself and didn't really lecture. It's really easy to get A, especially if you are just trying to get public speaking over with.

Amazing teacher who is very motivational. This class is so easy but people hate it because they don't want to do work. It should be easy to get an A because the homework assignments are points that are easy to get. How hard is it to do an outline and turn it in for points? I loved the opportunity to share my views.

Small group communication can be a hard class because you are relying on other people for a grade but Jodi makes it such a great class. Her expectations are crystal clear, if you do the work and follow the format, it is impossible to fail. quizzes are easy and straight from the lecture and the midterm as well.

If you show up and participate, you will do fine in her class. She's a great teacher. She takes her time explaining things and will do whatever it takes to ensure every one is grasping the concepts. Everything is explained in great detail. She always makes herself available for questions and is very approachable. She's also hilarious!
