Comment:

Nice guy, but takes a intro to SOC class too seriously. There are a total of 12, 1-page papers and only 3 tests that equally your grade. The tests are nearly impossible, as there are usually 8-10 short answer questions over lecture notes and 300 pages of material. If you want an A, don't take Charles.

We either watched a movie or talked about the paper that he assigned previously. We did not have a textbook for the course. His tests were all short answers and he graded really heavy because he looks for very specific answers. He never took attendance and always went off on tangents.

I do not recommend to ever take a class with this professor. He never replies to any student emails and is never concise when it comes to exams. Each meeting we would either watch a movie or he would rant about a random topic.

Comment:

Very nice guy, but terrible teacher. Rants about random things, as he feels his point of view is relevant to class. Not clear about class material, therefor when you get to a test, you're pretty much screwed. Would NOT recommend anyone take his classes.

He will go on a tangent about something not about the subject matter at hand. If you have a conflicting view than him he will take the whole class time trying to explain why you are wrong, and not even let you defend your point. He will call everything rac ist that he can, and will not nudge his views when more info comes up. Don't take him!

He is a very nice man, however he does not really know how to teach. He gets off subject easy and just likes to tell stories. He expects you to understand how his stories relate to Sociology 110, when in reality it doe not correlate at all. I would not take this class again. If i were you I'd find a different teacher if possible. Also, no textbook

He is very confusing and lectures are pointless. He never talks about items in the book yet the test covers book material in depth. He gets most of his questions from the website listed in the book's cover page.. TAKE THE PRACTICES QUIZZES ON THAT WEBSITE. He gives easy papers each week and you get like 8% bonus points if you do them all.

This teacher is nice but his exams sucks, he doesn't give any study guides which makes it really HARD for u to know what do u really need to know on the exams. I took them and did bad, so if you are a study guide person I advise you NOT to take him. He expects too much from a 101 class, dont got time.

This guy is odd. This is a very hard class for a 101, and the tests asked very specific questions about things he talked mentioned once or twice. He also goes on long tangents with no real content, so attending class can be a waste of time. I wouldn't take him again. The writing assignments were really easy, and you can't fail unless you try
