Pretty easy online elective of you are looking just to get it out of the way. I really did not talk to the prof but he set up a good class. His lectures were interesting . Overall, the class is fun if you like movies.

He keeps things interesting by filming each of his lectures in different places. Some of the films were a bit dark and violent for my taste, but most were really interesting. He is a fair grader and is very interested in his students. I highly recommend him.

He does have a tendency to ramble on for a while about some things, although I believe the majority of it was useful for going out and shooting video. We did not use textbooks and instead signed up for tutorials through lynda dot com.

More conversation about college football then film. EASY multiple choice tests. Has no interest in your comments or interpretations, even though he asks for them. Some test questions are just poor. For instance "Where was Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind set?" That's your take away from that film? The setting is completely unimportant.

Prof. Kier is informative and entertaining and comes to class incredibly well prepared. Simply put: the best Professor I ever had! including all the ones I had at the University of Michigan. I always dream about going back to school and learning more from him. It's been almost 10 years since I had his class, he is Greatest of All Time!

This was the easiest class i have ever taken, all you do is watch movies. you only take a midterm and a final, and you have to write 1 paper all semester. and you can write a second paper in place of your final if you dont want to take it. the midterm and final are EASY, he gives you the answers the week before!

First, I'll agree with some in that he gets a little political, but I never found it over the top, and my grades never suffered because of it. The class is pretty simple, but the tests are detailed, and require you to actually watch the movies and read the books. Only three grades for the class, but super fun!

Dan thinks he is teaching a political class. He is a full blown liberal and only gives you 3 grades for the entire class. I will never take a class with him again

What could be better than a class where you just watch great movies? His explanations and reading on the film industry were interesting and I learned a lot about the subject. Really good.

dan is the man, but he'll talk for hours and hours about unrelated (or near-unrelated) stuff if you let him. Really cool guy though. I'd love to party with Dan, I bet he really rambles when he gets ****, lol. Overall, I learned alot from his class (American Film) and really enjoyed it. A+.

He picks great movies, but he repeats a lot of info when he isn't sure what to talk about. He will ask for opinions, but he is looking for his opinion out of his students mouths. Should have had more opportunities for credit.
