If you're a psych major, Dr. Sandberg is a must-take. He is extremely knowledgable in the clinical field and his lectures are full of information that is beneficial to anyone looking to move on to grad school. His exams are difficult, but you'll do well if you put forth some effort. Utilize his office hours and ask him questions!

If you expect an easy A or to just get by through the semester, don't take Sandberg. He's a good professor but he expects you to know the basics, sometimes you need a refresher. Also he's a pretty tough grader and handwriting isn't the clearest so you might have to ask him in person what you need to work on. He goes through his lectures pretty fast

Dr. Sandberg is a real wealth of knowledge, and if you are passionate about Psychology, is a must take. The class is very interesting as long as you stay engaged with the material. He requires a textbook but you don't really need it as long as you come to class. Great teacher!

Took Experimental Psychology in the summer and it was NOT easy. His grades are pretty much the two quizzes, the finale (the third quiz), and the paper. He will absolutely help you with this paper, as long as you make the effort to make those corrections. He does give you a "cheat sheet" for the final,at least he did for the summer course.

Dr. Sandberg is an amazing professor. He may seem intimating but he's really nice (He once explained a single concept to me 5 times b/c I didn't understand). In his class, I have grown more as a student in these past 2 months than I have in the past 3 years. 2 exams, a final & manuscript, don't worry about it, he & your peers helps you write it!

Dr. Sandberg is one of the most amazing professors I've ever had. I took 4 classes with him and learned a ton. I don't think I'd understand SPSS/stats had I not taken his 3100 class. Sandberg is incredibly caring, supportive, and encouraging, and will do whatever it takes to help you succeed. I would not have made it to graduate school without him.

Avoid this professor. YES he is knowledgable when it comes to clinical, but that doesn't mean he's a good professor. He focuses heavily on statistics (Tests 1, 2 & final). Will clearly tell you what to put in your manuscript BUT it never sufficient. Would strongly suggest another professor for 3100..

Dr. Sandberg is very knowledgeable in his field. He has a lot of experience as a psychologist and all his knowledge is reflected into the class room. I am now a CSU alumna, but if you are planning on going on to pursue further clinical training, I would say hands down, he will prepare you very well for what to expect in graduate school!

First day of class he admitted most students get Cs in his class, well no surprise there. Tough grader on tests and manuscript. Even after making appropriate changes it was not good enough for him. Probably one of the worst professors i have had so far at CSUEB

Professor overall is really nice. Seems to care about his students. However, If you hate STATS avoid taking it with him. All three tests are based on stats. Tough grader when it comes to the manuscript, even after he gives you feedback it's still not good enough.

Very good class. Tests are challenging, however you create study notes as you progress through the class. Everything on the test is in the study notes. You have done everything on the test in some capacity. Do your work, pay attention in class, and study for an easy pass. Very smart, helpful, nice teacher.

He is great at giving lectures, shows interesting videos, no homework, no book needed, intelligent with personal experiences as a doctor himself, expects one simple paper and only gives 2 exams. Only 2 exams means that they are heavily weighted to your grade. He is VERY unclear on what he'll test off of his MANY power points. It was frustrating

Awesome class to take for Psychology major -esp. clinical work. Sandberg is awesome because he explains all theories in depth and gives real life clinical examples to understand better. He is so optimistic about student's answers and never says "no that's not right" he finds a way to understand what students are explaining. Recommended!!

He's an alright professor. Lectures are pretty bare-bones so it was hard to stay attentive in class. He shows occasional videos to reinforce the disorders and diseases he lectures about. The presentation project was pretty boring too since we could just read the case studies on our own.

Dr. Sandberg wants you to succeed. He is always willing to help and answer questions. There were three exams, two group presentations , and then the manuscript. He gives you all of the tools/materials that you need in order to do well. Best professor in the Psychology department at CSUEB.

Great professor. Very clear with what he wants. No surprises. Grade is 2 MT 1 cumulative final, 1 paper (easy A) 1 group project (easy A). Lots of material on each exam. Doesn't curve, MT averages were each 70% for the class. Not impossible, just a lot of information covered. Would definitely take again, but be prepared to study hard!

Dr. Sandberg is amazing. Very knowledgeable on the topic of abnormal Psych. I am not a Psych major, I did worked hard to get my A. 2 Test & 1 paper. Make sure to study a lot for the test. 1/2 the grade there. If you are willing to put the work, then you will do awesome in the course.

Man, these reviewers must be used to being handed A's on a silver platter! I didn't attend class religiously and never touched the book, but I EASILY got an A. This was by far my easiest Psych class (of 4!). Record the lectures, get notes if you miss them, and make flashcards. If you can't pass his multiple choice tests, forget about grad school!
