I'm biased but David is great. He got me into philosophy if you don't mind getting up at 8 am he's a great person to be around. He's funny and nice if you're close enough to him.

Comment:
I do not recommend taking this professor. I agree with others who question his philosophy and ethics "expertise." He ignores students when they point out his discrepancies and lacks of logic. He is quite unclear with instructions. He takes entirely too long to post grades and provide feedback. Our first grade was returned with 4 weeks left.

The best teacher I've ever had, by far. Brilliant, funny, always prepared, and willing to go well out of his way to help you understand the material.

He is a decent teacher, but a sub par human being. He is obviously **** in his class, seems only willing to help the attractive women in the class. His knowledge of philosophy is questionable, and class discussion were abysmal, useless, and uninformative even to a student majoring in the subject. And he is an even worse administrator.

David is my favorite professor at Bard. He is absolutely the most approchable guy on campus, HILARIOUS, hyperactive, down-with-it, "dig it" kinda guy who knows a whole LOT about philosophy and life. If you take no other class here, TAKE HIS.

He is pretty unclear with his teaching. He really doesn't seemd to be interested in what the student does. My whole point is that he has no interest in teaching and of the prospect to see his student succeed. His only interest seemed to be of finishing his obligation.

David is a great professor and adviser! He has an eccentric personality, and sometimes he says things that people might misinterpret, but once you get used to him he's a wonderful guy. Really helpful, engaged, and flexible as a teacher, and much better than my former adviser.

I love David. He's funny and engaging and will really push you. He can act like he's really mean to provoke you, but he just wants you to react. If he's sarcastic to you and seems to be picking on you, my advice is pick back and be witty! It comes across really well and shows him that you're thinking. I've really come to enjoy his Philo-Sci!

David is an AWESOME professor. His enthusiasm about the subject is obvious and it's what makes the class so much fun. Additionally, he is great at clarifying some very complex philosophical issues, and putting them in terms that are appropriate for an intro phil class. I highly recommend his PoS class.

Possibly the worst person I have ever known in my entire life. He is completely demeaning and loves to belittle those that need his help, something at which he excels. To call him cruel is an understatement of his mass injustices. I feel sorry for anyone else that has the displeasure of meeting him, but am even more sorry for those drawn to him.

I readily acknowledge the fact that David is not a great professor for everyone. In my class, however, we had great discussions, and I found him to be very flexible both with in-class discussion plans, as well as with essay prompts. Even a semester after taking his class, he still shows an interest in my life and academic pursuits.

Class is fun. He's an engaging, inspiring professor who manages to entertain and teach simultaneously. He asks questions that encourage serious thought. Though a little hard to read sometimes, all in all he's a bright man and a great teacher.
