Comment:

I love Professor Woods, his lab assistant and this class. I have learned so much invaluable knowledge that has really helped boost my skills to the next level. Film is an art that really has something to offer to all artist and Woods is a master in his field. You will need a SLR fully manual camera plus photo paper & film so budget for it. ENJOY!

Mr. Woods wants his students to do well, which is why his critiques often seem more harsh than intended. You're allowed to reshoot if you perform poorly on an assignment, which is great. He definitely has favorites, but so do most professors. You will learn so much in this class, and it's definitely worth all the work required.

Awesome dude and a great teacher. Had him for a night class and it made me look forward to the night it fell on. Every topic he covers has an assignment with it and if you don't like your grade you can redo it. I deffinately recommend him for D. Photography 1, I learned a ton.

Great Photographer and Professor. Enjoyed his class very much but it is a lot of information to digest. If you show up to class and participate, you will do just fine. He wants you to do well which is more than I can say for other Professors!

This class was so much fun! The Professor is AMAZING!!! If you have question he not only answers you but gives you some tips to help you. He will critique your work a lot and praise you too, so if you listen and do what he says you will do great. Everything you learn from him will make you great if you do exactly what he tells you.

Once you get past PGY 1, he's so much better... I do wish he were a little tougher but that's beside the point... I could really benefit from more solid constructive critique... Need a challenge... BE AWARE: He really kind of expects you to have a good working knowledge of Photoshop and doesn't have much patience for those who don't know it...

Teacher does not explain himself very well. I wish he would bring in actual examples of how to set up the situations he's talking about so we can see and do hands on and THEN go shoot our own. Always assumes questions are because you weren't paying attention, needs a real educator/photgrapher to redo his notes so they can be understood more easily.

... Amazing photographer himself - which is why he's teaching the class. I really like his no nonsense philosophy as it allows those of us truly wanting to learn to get something out of the class. His projects are perfect for this level of class and he is more than willing to help if you're willing to listen and work hard.

Teacher is very definitely different in the daytime classes than he is from the evening classes. He has no patience for questions and assumes you weren't paying attention if you ask one. He's not necessarily crystal clear on his explanations... Definitely has favorite students and takes care of them most. Really needs some training in how to teach

Great Photographer and instructor. He is also an artist and likes to encourage students to be creative. After taking his class I have made money as a part-time photographer. Digital Photo 1 & 2 is great for photography and Photoshop. Really enjoyed his class!!

I took photo 1 and 2 and Digital Photo1 and Dave is awesome. His assignments are creative and challenging but not impossible. He explains every assignment clearly and gives great critiques. Don't take his class if you are looking for an easy elective with no work, it will just piss him off. I learned a lot from him.

i was psyched about the class..was a big disapointment. if you suck up and hang out with him then he'll be nice to you. It seemed with each class he got a little more rude. not very helpful when you needed something to be clarified.
