Deb is AWESOME! Extremely knowledgeable & lenient. Class consisted of discussion on readings. Homework includes readings & projects. There is quite a lot to read but she doesn't expect you to read them all, word for word. Just skim & have a brief understanding of it bc it will help you in class unless you like those awkward silent moments.

Loves to engage the classroom from the reading. Asks questions from the reading each class period. Expect to do the reading, or you won't keep up in this class. We did like nothing in class. It never seemed like we accomplished anything. I thought I was doing good in the class bc we didnt see any of our grades until the end. When I got my grad I was like what the heck. She is a hard grader on the quizzes and projects

It took a couple days to decide whether I liked her style or not. I decided I do. Its different from what you're used to from professors, but very honest and can be thought provoking if you're open to it. If you want to sit there and hate it she isn't going to stop you, but she isn't going to give you an A either. Give her a try!

I love Deb! She is one of my favorite teachers I've had since coming to La Crosse. She is funny as hell and really down to earth. There aren't many professors that have sheep and live in a trailor. Sometimes she's a little unclear on assignments, but if you need an extention she's really flexible. I highly recomend her.

pretty annoying..... read a lot, but still got a pretty good grade. I felt like half of the stuff she said we never used. I did learn a lot from her lectures, but i watched the clock the WHOLE time

I didn't care for this class. She did try to be funny and entertaining, but her assignments were very unlcear. She is an extremely hard paper grader and she is very unclear and what she really wants. Her grading scale is from 1-5 but doesn't have a 3....what's up with that? Overall, she is an okay teacher, I just didn't like the class much.

She's really nice, and she does try to be funny, which is much appreciated, also she tries to understand other peoples points of view, but sometimes it pushes her too far. She is an extremely tough paper grader, and she expects a lot out of you. She'll push you to get things done pretty hard, but generally I liked her.

Good things: if you're not a good test takers, she does not give exams. Bad things: she doesn't explain her assignments AT ALL. i was confused on every assignment we did. And if you're not very talkative you'll probably fail - she grades only on participation and her extremely unclear assignments.

Not a bad prof overall. She's pretty tough on critiquing the papers, but grades fairly. We have interesting disussions in class, but she always makes her own opinions known. I learned more about current events and what's going on in the world than about writing and critical thinking.

I didn't mind having her... it could have been much worse. She is pretty interesting to listen to, her stories are repeated sometimes but, hey, who cares? Class discussion is very interesting, and she does not stop us from having our own debates, which I like. Overall, I think people were not being accurate in their assessments of her.

AWFUL! Her grading is unclear, she rambles on about her own life and doesn't teach anything. Plus, she's very biased toward men. I would not reccomend her at all. The class could be interesting but she just teaches it based on HER life and nothing else.
