Comment:
Dr. Halverson is a good Professor. 334 isn't an easy class but lecture made a difference. Quizes at the beginning of class were very helpful. She required reading from the textbook, which ended up being a total waste of time. She's really nice and easy to talk to unless you're a complete moron or put zero effort into the class

Excellent professor. She explained concepts well for a difficult class, and really cared about her students. She even came in on a Saturday to help the class review for an upcoming test. I highly recommend her as a professor.

She spent half of the lecture time doing a spiritual thought and quiz on the reading. This did not leave enough time for her to cover her prepared slides most every lecture. The material she did cover didn't make anything more clear as she focused on setting up the details of a proof rather than what it means. literally gave us a surprise midterm

I took 313 from her. Prof Halverson is very caring and really wants to help students to success. however, she couldn't explain the concepts very clear, and most of times her answers to student's questions are very vague. i learnt more from math lab than her class. she made the class extra hard and many people withdraw from her class.

Excellent professor, enjoyed the class. Lectures were centered on working through problems. Dr Halverson did a great job explaining concepts and theorems so I could visualize the work I was doing and understand the material better.

Outstanding professor. Gives boring lectures but thats just because the material is boring usually. She really wants her students to do well, and is very helpful at office hours. Very friendly and competent as a professor.

If you have her as your professor, good luck, you need it. She wants to help you, but she almost always has no idea how. Online homework was annoying more than anything else. If you want your learning to be made more difficult, take her. I only got an A because I took this class in high school.

Math 302 is a hard class! But Dr. Halverson is a good teacher. Sometimes she starts talking in math language and you wonder what's going on, but usually she gives enough examples that I was able to understand. Loved the spiritual thoughts. We had daily quizzes, but they were all for extra credit which was nice. Definitely possible to succeed!

She doesn't really teach how to do problems but only does proofs and then expects you to learn on your own. I learned more from the TA then anything

The tests are extremely hard. The rest of the Math 112 classes use a standardized test but she prints her own. They are very tricky with plenty of trick questions. You can't use a calculator in the tests but the answers are almost all complex numbers. If you can I would take another teacher.

I definitely enjoy the teaching style of Dr Halverson. She really makes sure you learn a lot but not by telling it to you. She goes over basics and then expects you to extend your knowledge of those basics to new problems. The take home tests were hard since we had never seen the problems before. But it helped you gain a deep understanding.

Professor Halverson was fair but she is not merciful. It was very unclear what she expected of us and she was demanding. She gave help if you asked for it. By far the hardest class I have ever taken. Theory of Analysis is hard and she did not make it easier. She did give great spiritual thoughts, and she was encouraging. The tests were insane.

Overall score here is deceptive she is more of a 2.55 not 3.6 as listed now. Homework is hard but ok if u go to TA lab. She writes her own exams and they STRONGLY emphasize obscure hw problems that if you don't have memorized your doomed. 90% correct proof missing one line 210. Most common score on final ,F ,no curve. Find easier, better prof.

Dr. Halverson is not very exciting but she knows a lot. Her tests are pretty difficult but gives you a study guide with word for word questions that will be on the test. Attendance and reading are a major part of your grade.

Sister Halverson is a great teacher and is really passionate about the BOM. But her lectures are loooong and boring, and most of the things she talked about weren't on the test. Attendance was mandatory, but I would've been fine had I not attended the class. Be ready to read a few chapters of the BOM a night, journals, and ponder questions.

She was very difficult and not helpful. I wouldn't recommend this teacher or this class. I really liked the subject, but she ruined it for me. She was super nitpicky about annoying details that other teachers don't care about.
