This was the best class. I think dorrie is by far the kindest most thoughtful instructor I've had at Butte. Her classes were interesting and kept my attention. Her voice was calming and her heart was in it. You can tell she cares about you as person and wants you to do well. I wish more instructors were like her.

Dorothy is an amazing person. The class is very chill and relaxed. Most of the class time is spent talking or watching movies. The material is not very hard, and that is ok. This class is very easy but can be boring at times. She is so passionate about her field and you can see it through her words. I would recommenced her to anyone.

Those leaving Dorrie a negative review need some help. Rate my professor offers insight on classes. Spend time looking into classes since youre such a great student that wants extra work! You dont have disrespect. Very clear about assignments and is flexible. We need more teachers like her. Her care for students goes beyond class be thankful

Overall, she was nice, had a good heart, but she seemed unprofessional. She talked to the students vs with them about things irrelevant to the class; maybe it was relevant in some way and I didn't see it, but it didn't seem relevant enough. Homework planning was poor. She was a nice person, but I am not sure she should be a teacher; for this class.

she tries to be nice but her class is just movies and then she assigns a ton of written work. it really felt like i was wasting my time, but i felt bad because she was nice. not sure she should be teaching classes outside of actual instrument instruction

ok... she is constantly lecturing about things that have nothing to do with music, and she is very vague about how she wants assignments done. i can tell that she is more used to teaching people how to play instruments than she is about lecturing.

She is horrible. Never there, cancels class often. Gives tests that are not even from the book or her own. Gave tests from another professor. Talks down to students. I would never take another class from her.

Easiest class of my life. One note, though. The normal way she talks is as if she is talking to a little kid. People misunderstand this as her insulting them. I see it over and over. She's not trying to insult you, it's just how she talks. It's identical to the way she gives lectures. People in class flip out over nothing.

She is absolutely the worst teacher. Everyone in my class talks about how rude she is, she spends most of her time, when she actually shows up, complaining to peers about how bad they are. She is completely disrespectful. I hate her.

Worst instructor ever. I know music just as well as her, but she tries to make one sound stupid. You have to type 2 concert reports, which she doesn't explain AT ALL. They're 1,100 words each, when asked what to write about she told my friend she doesn't need to hold his hand anymore and can figure it out on his own. She sets you up to fail. Avoid!

HORRIBLE CLASS! If you know anything already about theory she is down right insulting and talks to you like you're in kindergarden. I can't explain how rude she is. Doesn't set you up for taking further theory classes, never have to show up to class, assignments are a joke, first 2 months were about nursery rhymes and nothing to do with theory.

Dorrie Keefe is very rude. She totally abuses the fact that she is the teacher. If you know anything prior to the class and say it she will be very passive aggressive about it/you in general. I don't recommend her class.

Comment:

Didn't show up to half the classes, and when she did, she was often late. Treated college students like a kindergarten class, and not just with the ridiculously slow lesson plans and minimal amount of material covered, but with her condescending demeanor even with her more music theory knowledgeable students, which doesn't take much for that class.
