Dr. Cummings is a tough grader but to be honest I got the grade I worked for. The biggest distraction in the courselves for me was his ever changing shoes and watches. How can one man have that many shoes?

Just go ahead and look for a different FKL to take. The professor doesn't have office hours and he's very slow at replying to emails. Very tough grader and doesn't help when you have technical difficulties by giving you a 0 for the assignment because he doesn't take late work. Completely ridiculous and unprofessional

Quizzes are very difficult, study, study,study. Try and take notes from Vietnam videos because you will be quizzed on it. Blogs are difficult not very clear on what he wants you to write about, gives no real direction. Grades very harshly but an A is not impossible.

Grades consist of 10 blogs and 10 quizzes. Horrible grading system because there is no room for error. Seems very nice through email, but in person seems very cold and uncaring for personal situations. I would definitely not take a class with him again.

Vietnam War online- so grateful for what i learned. comic bood text book is ok but stupid, would prefer power point outline lol. Teacher is a bit lacking in politeness. Thank God i just studied the text and videos (take notes) and do the blog. Easy A. test are 15 mulit choice questions. 750 word final essay. Good CLASS!!! ehh prof.

Super easy and straightforward online class.The material is divided into 6 units of two weeks each:first week you watch an hr long documentary and read a section of a graphic novel and take a 15 question quiz in 20 min; the second week you read a chapter he posts and write a 750+ word blog. If you pay attention to the material, its a cake walk.

His. of SE Asia. Easy class. Online quiz once a week based on readings, 1 map quiz, 1 5page paper, & no final. The books that he assigns are pretty boring, but fill you in what you need to know. Only holds class once a week where you watch a movie, other class period is online lecture. He is monotone. Very helpful and courteous.

Vietnam. Took online during summer. Very little reading, must watch PBS videos for weekly quizzes. If you read the chapters and watch the videos (helps to take notes while watching video) videos are interesting. it is a super easy A. Have to write 2 blogs, about 1000 words each, he grades fair, super easy. Would definitely recommend.

Took Online Vietnam for the summer. 6 week course that consisted of a weekly quiz on the video and book and 2 blog posting of 1000+ words. This will be an A for me and I have not had to put too much time into. He grades quickly and responds to questions/problems quickly. I would recommend this class!

Pretty hard for an online class. I did all the assignments, read his books and followed the syllabus which should've gotten me an A.He doesn't post any grades till the end of class and on top of that the video set which you have to purchase costs 80 bucks and the text book 120. He posts your grades the week after the class ends.Busted ass for a C+

I took Vietnam war last spring and recieved an 82. Cummings requires you to take 4 exams,a quiz every week,a 1 1/2 page paper every week and on top of that you have to purchase his textbook(boring) and read multiple novels. Expect to read 150-200 pages weekly.Oh yeah,cummalative final. My friend refered this class to me saying it was easy, pshhhh.

I took an online Vietnam War class with Cummings and it was very straightforward. You read a reasonable amount of pages and watch the PBS DVD and you will do fine on the tests. Grades are based on quizzes and tests alone.

Well, he is not a very good teacher. However, you can really get an A in his Southeast Asian History class. The reason is because all you have to do is read the books he assigned you, and everything is online. I didn't find him helpful at all, I only read what he assigned.

online class very hard you have to read 70 pages a week and take test every week. i expected asian class with interesting topics, got typical history class. i got sick of it and dropped no time fo reading that much i'll take something else

DO NOT TAKE! This is the most boring professor! Not helpful! I took his online class which was the most boring class I ever took! If you are senior looking to graduate and need related class TAKE SOMETHING ELSE. You will have to read boring history book with lousy pictures and then take confusing test. Final is cumulative 20 chapters !! NIGHTMARE !

Horrible class! The prof records lousy podcast once a week that don't help you at all with quiz. Weekly quiz is poorly written so you always get few wrong even if you memorize the whole book. And the book.. this book is so bad it's written in the way that it seems like the whole book is one sentence of pure scrambled boredom. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE!

This class is pretty easy IF you read ALL the materials and watch the videos. There are only two tests in the class--no quizzes or discussion--so you really have to prepare yourself for the tests. That said, the class is fairly easy, though some questions on tests were ambiguous or poorly written. Overall a very interesting class.
