Mike Jenck Is a laid back instructor (for math) I have taken math 50 and 75 with Mike. Highly recommend! Super friendly and helpful in class. Responds fast to emails or questions through WAMAP.

Comment:

I loved Jenck, hes a little quirky but hes a super great teacher. Always willing to help and really understanding. I regret not taking him for my current math class. Attendance is marked daily and we had group work just about every day, so keep that in mind. Strongly recommend.

Comment:

Nice person, not the greatest teacher. Moves too fast through lectures as if he's reviewing material he already knows, as someone said before me. Attendance is mandatory, and he keeps a tally of how many absences you have as the quarter goes on. Test are worth most of your grade, and are nothing like the homework. Would not take again.

Comment:

There are packets for each module that you cover in class. There is no need to purchase the book. The downside to this class is that 60% of the grade is based on 4 exams in addition to a final which is worth 25%. He gives you unlimited attempts on WAMAP. There are videos imbedded into WAMAP for you to watch to help explain the material. Good class.

This teacher sucks, he expects you to know everything before going into the class. He doesnt TEACH you, its like hes reviewing material that he already knows but you dont. Waste of money. Lazy teaching.

He gives a TON of online homework, homework uses completely different methods than what he tries to teach you in class. So when you do good on your homework odds are youll do bad on the tests and work he gives you in class. And vice versa. Very confusing, would not take again. Goes way too fast in lectures and gets annoyed when asked to slow down

He was super chill, always explained things if you didnt understand and was always willing to help if you were still confused afterwards. All we do is hmk and tests. But its simple, you have hmk on the lessons you did and tests on that lesson. Nothing crazy at all. Definitely would recommend him

10/10 good teacher helped understand the concept well. He answers all your questions overall very good teacher test are easy and homework is average almost. really helped me hate math a little less.

I took his class for Math085 and all the homework is online (wamap). At the most, there are 29 problems for homework 4 days a week. You get about 25 tries (each question) to get the answer right so, "there's no way you should get less than 100% on your homework" - Professor Jenck. you don't use the textbook at all. Would recommend his class.

This professor had already made notes, so all I had to do was print them off and take notes from his lectures. I learned very easily from this professor, and he gives extra credit opportunities with almost every assignment with video forums. Also, if you have questions on homework, he is easy to approach to get some help.

Mr. Jenck may try his best, but it is not enough. His packets are full of mistakes. If you ask for clarification, he will point to the packet he hands out rather than write it out on the board. About 25% of what he goes over in class ends up on the test. Coming from A's in 085 and 095 to struggling in this course, speaks for itself.

All H/W is turned in online meaning you have NO idea where you're screwing up. He does goes over it in class, but the way he talks is as if you knew what he was doing and you obviously dont or you wouldnt need him to go over it. You'd be wise to use the math center and have an actual teacher explain things to you.

Okay, avoid Jenck if possible. One of the worst teachers I've ever had. Doesn't explain material, will put stuff on test he does not go over, always has mistakes in his notes, I had him for two quarters and he didn't know my name until the last week of the last quarter. JUST DO NOT TAKE HIS HIGHER LEVEL MATH CLASSES!!

Great teacher, but you do have to ask him a lot for help he's not always clear. Easy class though, and he drops some quizzes same as homework.

I like how he will help you if you don't understand something then he will help the best that he can. There aren't many tests through out the quarter. There are 3 tests and then the final. The tests aren't hard if you do the homework and show up for class. All the homework is online and he gives a packet for notes and we go over it.

I like this class because the homework is online and he helps you when you have questions. He is easy to understand and the tests were not hard at all. There are only 3 tests plus the final. I like how he explains things and he will hep you if you need it and cant understand it.

Jenck's idea of teaching is giving you a packet and telling you to get to work, then some lecturing, and more packet work. He doesn't explain things very well sometimes and will move on without clearing it up. He also does problems for you rather than helping you understand how to do them.
