McFeely is a weird dude. Overall nice human; however, hes a pretty subpar prof. The best day of the semester was when he canceled class. He seems very unorganized and doesn't grade any projects until finals week so your grade is a mystery. He likes what he likes and he really doesnt care what you have to say or think. Just stay clear of mcfeely

He is a good guy and smart but is a terrible professor. Communication design is a stressful major to begin with and his lack of instruction makes it that much more stressful. Basically taught myself.

Mcfeely is an oddball. He seems to know what he's doing in regards to typography, but he doesn't seem to make a good professor. My impression was that he was a bumbling, but smart man. His typography class didn't leave a good impression though. The most I learned was some of the 150+ fonts we had to memorize for quizzes. Projects were uninteresting

Mcfeely is a nice guy who knows his stuff about coding but is a robot when it comes to teaching. Every class he lectures half the time then you just follow whatever he codes and you don't really learn anything. The only project we got and the only time we coded on our own was the final project and everyone was lost.

Truly like him as a person but it's painfully obvious that he never wants to be there. Mildly tough grader but not in a fun or challenging way. We didn't have a single project graded until finals week. Yikes. Every class I had in my block this semester the only thing I heard other students talk about was how much they hated his class. Every class.

He is such a kind professor, very chill, and sometimes even funny. Two of the things I don't like about his class is that he is not very clear with directions on his projects. He doesn't give you grades until the end and doesn't tell you why you got that grade. He seems knowledgeable but sometimes comes off uninterested especially in lower classes.

Not clear on projects. Requires you to learn 100 different typefaces that all look the same. He doesn't put any grades in. Expect to work on multiple things at once. Don't bother asking him to explain things cleared because I'm pretty sure he has no idea what he's doing

Hands down, worst professor I've ever had. I did not learn a single thing from him, my friend taught me half a semester's worth of information in 30 minutes when he couldn't in the entirety of the class. He does not respond to emails and refuses to give feed back. Very arrogant and is a terrible prof.

Has good intentions but not a good professor. Boring lectures, does not really teach what he actually wants you to do for the projects. He is never clear on what he wants for a project. Never sticks to schedule. You will be working on at least 3 projects at once. And do not expect to see any grades from the semester until finals week.

McFeely is a really great guy, but a lot of the time he doesn't seem very knowledgable about what he's teaching. I know he loves to teach, but he seems very spread out being the head of the CD department and teaching. He's really good with crits.

McFeely is such an adorable and precious man. He isn't arrogant at all, but he does know what he's doing! If you ask for help, he'll be sure to fix your problem 100% before moving on. And he's sassy. Very sassy. I just want to stare at him forever.

I LOVE this guy. Can come off as extremely awkward/arrogant, but he's actually really helpful when you ask and really nice when you talk to him. Tends to take class more seriously than Decoster. Definitely knows what he's doing/talking about.

had him for another class as well. I find him to be very arrogant. seems more interested in "intimidating" than actually helping. However he does not waste your time, which I appreciate and he doesn't sugar coat. Is younger too so he's not old fashioned like some of the others.

Professor McFeely is such a nice guy and knows his stuff too! The class is fast paced but it's only half a semster course. Very easy, very helpful, younger guy so it reminds me alot like High School; not so formal. Gives extra credit and let's us out early alot! I recommend taking Professor McFeely.
