Comment:

Great professor. Very knowledgeable. Class gets a bit dry, but he tries to keep it engaging. Exams are straightforward. Memorize his notes word for word, then regurgitate that information onto paper for the exams. I studied max 2 days prior to each exam to memorize the notes and was set for the 3 exams. (Final exam is optional)

Comment:

One of my favorite professors I have ever had. I really enjoyed the material of the course, very interesting. Going to class, taking notes, and studying are a must, tons of information given in class and he does not post his lecture notes online. The exams are all essays and are very clear questions based on what he taught in class.

Comment:

The only problem I have with the course design is with the exams. The questions are not specific enough, and even with clear understanding of the subject material, it was difficult to get a good grade. Grading is dependent on Dr Wagner's expectation that you cover specific points, that are not clearly asked for in the question phrasing.

Dr. Wagner is explicitly clear in all of his lectures. He encourages the class to think deeper and draw connections. I have enjoyed the course immensely! The course does not require attendance but I can't see that you can attain any knowledge without attending, there are no assigned readings and the notes that you take in class are all you have

This was my favorite psych class ever- it being the most interesting. Prof Wagner was very knowledgeable of all the topics and there was not one lecture that I was bored. I liked his approach in teaching the major disorders- by giving the history of the perception and the treatments. Highly recommended!! An A is definitely do-able.

He's a really sweet man and lecture is very interesting but this class is not that easy. You have tons of notes and all the exams are open-ended and you don't get a review guide or any hint as to what's going to be on the exams. The book isn't very helpful either because he doesn't really follow along with it.

Had him for a byrne seminar on autism and parkinsons... he's so nice and knowledgable. Very friendly, easy grader, and really wants his students to learn. lectures are interesting.. he really knows what he talking about.. Really great professor!

Awesome professor. Extremely clear, very knowledgeable. Material is not easy, but very interesting. Exams are unpredictable, requires you to know everything. Textbook is not required, but need to pay attention to everything he says in class (not hard as it's all very interesting). Highly recommended, but not to those who want a easy class.

Definitely the best professor I've ever had! This class is so interesting that I stay awake even when I'm dead tired. He's very clear, organized, helpful, and highly intelligent. Opened up my eyes on so many things. Exams are all open ended so you have to study quite a bit, go to class and write down everything he says and study them.

Professor Wagner is a great teacher! He's very helpful in office hours and really wants you to understand the material. As long as you come to class and take notes, you should definitely be fine for the exams. Since they're essay, you can basically explain yourself and he's a pretty lenient grader. I highly recommend taking this class!

very clear and concise. don't waste your money or time on the textbook. take really good notes. sometime he goes off on tangets but they are usually very interesting and funny little anecdotes. he's very helpful and enthusiastic with respect to his line of work. 3 midterms, final is optional. that's VERY doable and VERY helpful!!!!

Professional & concise. He tells you *everything* you need to know for the exam. All you have to do is study the notes (but he gives you a lot) & you will be fine. The material isn't difficult, it's just that you must know everything. Very interesting class. You will leave the class knowing a lot more than you did before.

This guy is EXTREMELY interesting. I remember having him about 2 years ago...i failed the first exam. then i realized...all you have to do is take good notes and STUDY THEM!!!! I finished the class with a B. He rules.So if you fail the first exam don't drop! All he wants you to do is retain the material to do well.Very organized lectures.

He really is the best. Classes were never boring (not even for a second). Essay exams were on relatively simple topics and grading was very fair. Wagner is knowledgable, interesting, and motivating. Take the class (But take physio first).

Go to class, listen and take good notes. Don't need the book at all. Always says that exams may or may not cover material from previous exams, but it never happens. Talks a lot about history, interesting but nothing you'll be tested on. Awesome class, great prof. Again, GO TO CLASS. NO NEED 4 BOOK!

Wagner is awesome. Concise and subtly funny. Very helpful and clear about material you need to know. Covers 90% of what you need to know in lectures, so if you can reproduce most of your notes in an essay exam, and skim the book, this class is an easy A.
