Super chill professor, great at letting you know exactly what to expect. Exams are writing-based (think definitions, short essays) so be prepared to analyze what you know and not just rely on memory. I attended a little over half the lectures and still did well in the class, although I did complete all of the readings (which are actually worth it)

Comment:

Lehman is a super good lecturer with a lot of facts and traveling stories to reinforce the course material. His class is fairly hard, but if you review well for both exams and put a lot of effort into your final paper, you should come out with a good grade. DO NOT MISS CLASS, or at the very least have a very smart classmate give you their notes.

If you take thorough notes and show up to every class, you wouldn't need any of the textbooks in my opinion. He's engaging and nice, but as a non-political major I was bored out of my mind. Graded on a few weekly writing assignments and 4 tests.

Comment:

Lehman has fairly interesting lectures and he seems like a good guy. Always was clear with what he wanted on assignments and tests, and gave feedback on grading so that you knew how to improve on the next one. Solid professor

Professor Lehman definitely knows what he's talking about. His tests are a little difficult and it's hard to know what he/his TA are looking for at times. The only thing on your grade are the tests, so put in the time to study. I barely opened the textbooks, he teaches everything you read in class. If the library has a copy, I would opt for that!

Kept lectures interesting and funny. I learned a lot in this class, it took a good amount studying but was definitely worth it and I feel like I got more out of the class because the proff inspired me to truly learn the material.

Prof Lehman was awesome! He was very accommodating when my son was sick and I had to miss class. He is a tough grader but very fair. I definitely was able to learn a lot in his classes (I took two). He even managed to make the classes interesting.

I took Advanced International Theory with Dr. Lehman and really enjoyed the experience. His lectures made the three hours fly by, and he took the time to learn our names and encourage class discussion. This was an essay-intensive class but his grading was very fair. Definitely take a class with him if you get the chance!
