Comment:
This was my favorite class in the first semester of the teaching credential program. Dr. Coots is amazing and so kind. She is one of those people that was born to be an educator, and also a person where years of teaching hasnt eroded her personality. I hope to be an educator like her one day :). Take her for child development!

Very easy class. 1 midterm (35 pts), 1 final (40 pts) (both are open book/notes/laptop) and 1 observation project (50 pts). She gives five points of participation credit for being in class at least once per week so attendance is a must. The total amount of points just for attendance was 90 points. Lectures were always interesting. Take her!

the professor is very nice and is really engaging with students; you can tell she is an expert. there is one midterm open book, open notes multiple choice test, and a very similar final. there is one large paper due after the midterm that has no clear criteria or instructions. all the lectures are usually online.

She is awful. The work she gives out is so much busy work, and the instructions are not very clear. I truly think she thinks her class is the most important class and expects you to devote a lot of time to it. She has a really unclear grading criteria. Idk how she is in person, but in online, it is very unorganized and unclear.

She is a little boring, but if you attend class and received all the points for doing in class assignments, you should pass with an A. Open book and open note test. One major project, but its easy.

her class may be boring but you get credit for attending class and participating in group discussions. Just fill out the study guide and do the final project on time and you'll get an easy A. every test is open book and notes and she does have extra credit opportunities. Teacher is nice if you need help.

She does look like the Teacher from Clueless! The glasses..the hair, the mannerisms!! She's pretty much nice. She gives extra credit and tests are open book...but dont miss class! Each day is worth 5 points and it can bring down a grade!

She's really nice. Kind of reminds me of the lady teacher on Clueless, Ms. Giest. She respects you if you respect her by showing up and participating. All open book tests and many opportunities for extra credit. Get a head start on the observation project so you don't stress out at the end of the semester.

This is a very easy A IF YOU GO TO CLASS. Her class is so easy and boring that it really feels like a big waste of time. Participation is worth 5 points a day. but the exams are only worth 15 points each, so obviously its really important not to miss her class.

The assignments are pretty easy. Not that hard though because of the low total points, its hard to get an "A". I like her class, I like the discussions though it gets repetitive. How many times can you talk about "nature" and "nurture". She acts if the textbook is her bible.

She's an okay teacher, her lectures are pretty boring and she expects people to participate in her class. No homework in her class really, just read the book so you'll be prepared for tests, and show up to class to get participation points (part of grade)

She is really stuck on herself. She thinks she is always right. It seems that she wants to give everyone a hard time. She makes thinks complicated even though they are not and should not be. She does not care if her students succeed or not.

If you want to feel like you can't accomplish anything ... take this course. This teacher really needs to get over herself and realize that her opinion isn't always the right one.
