Comment:
I had Dr. Parchesky for 3 years in high school. She was very nice and she was always willing to help. Her lectures were pretty long and boring though, but that's not necessarily her fault since its English. Be prepared to read and write, since that is her emphasis. Make sure to participate in class, so she will like you.

I enjoyed the readings, lectures and assignments in this course. One of the most interactive courses I have had at ASU. However, I never received my final assignment even though I called and emailed several times. I was so disappointed by the lack of feedback on assignments throughout the semester.

Very boring! The overall class is somewhat easy, if you can get through all of her boring lectures. She talks to students like they are little kids, and if you have an opinion to add about the text she takes two seconds to acknowledge it and then continues to push her own ideas. Do not take her if you don't like sitting through dry lectures!

Very smart. Fair grader on papers. Take notes on terms that you hear but don't see on the slides. She will test you on these! You must take time to study for her tests. You will not pass them if you don't read the material or study those terms. I guess would take another one of her classes, now that I know what to expect.

Even if the theory goes over your head at times, you can smile and nod and skip your way through her class. She is incredibly nice, incredibly smart, and doesn't really expect undergrads to understand Jameson, Beaudrillard, or Butler anyway, so the expectations are low. I would take a class from her again just because of how cool and smart she is.

She is extremely demanding of her students and challenges them in order to help fully develop their ideas. She is very hard and covers a lot in her courses, only take her if you are in school to actually learn something.

Cool teacher, knows a lot. says um sometimes, but she's a fair grader and knows her stuff. go to her office - she likes one-on-one and likes having students participate, even in lecture. keeps the class interesting.

Very helpful prof if you go to office hours; her lectures are interactive and she requires participation so make sure you've read. Focuses on detailed reading of text so very good training for english majors. highly recommended, but only if you believe college is about learning and you're willing to work.

Horrible teacher. She gives the most boring lectures I have ever heard and is not helpful to students in any way. A truly awful teacher you should stay very far away from.

Definately do not take her! She treats her students like they are five years old. She thinks everyone is going to cheat and she goes over class time making you late to your next class. Her class does cover way too much material for one semester and her lit. selection is very extreme for the periods.

I took ENG242 w/TA's, so this prof never graded any of my papers. Still, organized, easy-to-follow lectures. Midtem and final very straightfoward--right from the notes. Decent teacher.
