Jim is an amazing teacher! He is passionate about biology and stays current with his information. His tests are HARD and you absolutely must know the material! It's a tough class but not impossible and you come away really knowing your stuff. He is always willing to explain things in more depth. I would take from him again in a heartbeat.

I failed the class because I didn't get anything from the lectures. On my last test I only needed one more point to pass the whole class.

His lecture was the only thing that saved my grade for Anatomy. At times the lecture was boring but he does try to keep you interested and is funny at times. When I had questions he was always willing to answer/help.

Assignments online super easy. Don't buy text book since you are practically forced to purchase e-book. His test are extremely hard. He expects you to memorize every bit of info on his slides. He teaches from his slides, not the book. Each study guide is about 13 pgs. when filled out & test is only 50 ?s. Definitely do not recommend this teacher.

Professor goes off on tangents that don't matter for the overall scheme of the class. His tests are incredibly detail oriented and is only possible to get a good grade if you have taken his class more than once. Many of the questions on his tests were meant to confuse and trip students up. Expected us to have material memorized. Worst Teacher

I really enjoyed taking Anatomy from Mr. Blevins. This class is a very tough class, however he provides study guides that clearly tell you what you need to know for your tests. If you study those guides well you will do fine on the tests!!! I would have taken Physiology with him if he taught it. Great professor!!

I think that this class can be summed up with the average of Blevin's first test this semester: 56%. I lie not, the average grade was an F. He did not curve it so if you were just an average student, you failed. So, if you are interested in getting a very low grade in a biology course then take this class, otherwise you would be wise to avoid it.

Anatomy is just a hard class! Jim teaches it just fine. Do all the study guides in detail and study study study. If u do that u will be fine.also helps to record his class. Don't take any other classes if you work full time. This class is super hard and it will take up a huge amount of time.

Jim Blevins tests on the peripheral and obtuse ideas and stays away from the main topics. He makes it much harder than it should be. If you take this class from him, focus on histology and cytology because that's all he likes. It was frustrating.

Blevins is a tough teacher, but passing (and even getting an A in) his classes is perfectly do-able. If you attend every class and take diligent notes, fill out the study guides with as much detail as possible, and then study and review the SG & lectures there's no reason you won't pass. Textbook material is for quizzes and doesn't show up on exams

Worst anatomy professor at SLCC. His study guides don't help. Average test scores were lowest among anatomy professors and the only common denominator is Blevins. If you want to struggle to just barely pass he's your man. He wasted time every class saying "You won't need to know this for an exam" and then gave nonessential facts.

Jim is a terrible teacher. I have a Bachelor's degree and have taken many bio classes. He is very boring and rude when you ask questions for clarity or try to get extra help. He gives you study guides, but they are not helpful for the tests. Most students were failing his tests. I ended up dropping his class.

Professor Blevins is very passionate about biology; however, only really with animals. During all the plant sections of this class he seemed to not care. He really doesn't answer questions very well, however he is very clear about what you need to know for the tests. His study guides are a great tool. Not an easy class, If you TRY you'll be fine

Mr Blevins is an extremely hard teacher. He goes by slide shows, but his tests are not what he talks about in class. I don't recommend this teacher. He does small quizzes online, that aren't much of your grade, and tests that are most of your grade. there is no extra credit either.

Human Anatomy is one tough subject, but James makes it very clear and easy to understand. Don't get me wrong, the tests are hard, but they are fair as well. All of the questions on the tests will come out of either his study guides or online quizzes. He gives out study guides and lecture notes for every chapter covered. Highly recommend him!

He is a terrible teacher, his tests are tricky, I studied really hard and still failed the class, I understand his concept what his teaching but when it comes to his tests, he changes his wording and his definitions are horrible. If theirs students that want to learn from a professor not from this guy.
