Professor Feldman is honestly the best professor I've ever had. He really cares and wants the best for students. I would HIGHLY recommend you take this seminar, even if you're not interested in plants, if you want a smaller setting to get to know people and feel welcome. Berkeley is a big place but this class makes it seem so much smaller.

The plant section of Bio 1B was the hardest, but Feldman did a good job at teaching the material. His lecture style does not align with my personal learning style, so I struggled to remain engaged and interested in his lectures. That being said, he is always willing to explain areas of confusion, and is really passionate about the material.

Plants are hard, but Feldman was a really really good lecturer. I didn't attend lecture (bc 8am) but made sure to watch every single course captures. His midterm was NOT memorization but rather it really tested whether you knew the material and could logic it through. Lots of ppl complain about plants but I'm glad I had Feldman. 10/10

Professor Feldman taught the plant section, which I thought was the most interesting section because it's everywhere and you can apply it physically. His lectures were interesting BUT beware, this section is the hardest on and requires A LOT of memorization and recognition of structures. Very interactive though.

This man loves plants. Like, really loves them. His enthusiasm about the subject makes it easier to wake up at 8am. Not gonna lie, I didn't go to a lot of his classes because I was really burnt out, but I made sure to go to the first couple. He writes everything you need to know on the board, but definitely go over the lecture online later for info

Feldman teaches the plant section of bio 1b- definitely the hardest of the 3 sections. However, he is by far the best lecturer. He writes everything you need to know on the board and goes over a lot of material each lecture. Lectures are webcast but definitely go to his. The labs and midterm are more challenging than the other sections but doable

Best bio 1B professor. Plants are the most difficult section of the class and his tests are quite hard but if you go to lecture or watch the lectures online it is not too bad. He really wants his students to succeed which is nice. He seems really dedicated to his class and students which is refreshing.

Very good at teaching difficult concepts. Sometimes he goes fast, but is always clear about what is important. He is passionate about what is teaching, which makes you want to learn about a somewhat dry subject. His tests are very difficult, but I studied really hard and did well.

Best science professor I've ever had. Extremely clear, concise, and the best of the bio professors in the 1B series. His test is pretty hard, but he is extremely helpful. His section is the only one worth attending of the three Bio 1B profs.

He's well organized with notes, clear with explanations, paces the class very well, and is very approachable during office hours. I love how he always brings in real plants to lecture and visits lab to check up on students. Exams test if you get the concept, and there might be a few tricky questions thrown in there.

I love Professor Feldman. He is very passionate about his teaching. He's the only Bio1b professor that I attended the lectures for. The only bad part is that his handwriting is bad. His midterm questions are pretty tricky though. His lectures are very clear

Professor Feldman is a great and enthusiastic professor. His lectures are very helpful and engaging. He is also very friendly and open to questions. He likes his students to understand the concepts behind what he is teaching more than just memorizing so to do well on his exams you really need to understand the concepts he goes over in lectures.

Dr. Feldman is a very clear, helpful and enthusiastic teacher. Watching his lectures is like watching a performance. He respects students and is willing to explain anything during office hours. Reading the book is not necessary. Know the concepts from lecture and you should be fine for tests, although the wording on his questions can be tricky.

I lovee Dr. Feldman! He's crystal clear in lectures and he really cares about his students that it makes learning about plants actually fun! Be careful though, his midterm/final is ALL about concepts and applying what you've learned (sometimes a little memorization here and there).

Feldman is probably one of the best science professors at Berkeley. His style of teaching is different in the sense that he wants students to apply what they learn. He challenges students to think beyond the box, his exam questions are meant to test your understanding and not memorization. His exams are fair. Attend office hours, he's funny.
