Dr. Johnson is a nice guy, but the class is pretty uneventful. He reads straight from the PowerPoints, and the tests are kind of a joke, considering you're allowed to use your notes. It was an easy grade though!

Academically and intellectually Johnson is an average to below average professor. His lecture style seems to be focused on making sure all students think he's average to above average. Seems pathologically insecure and burdens students with propping up his delicate self image. I'd recommend taking anyone but him.

He teaches directly from his Powerpoints that he posts online. A nice guy, but can be a little dry. He shared some funny stories and showed videos to go along with some classes.

Dr. Johnsons class was very interesting but difficult. I did well, but I devoted a lot of time to studying for his exams. When I had his class his exams were all short answer or essay, you had to know the material. I would definitely recommend taking one of his classes especially it you have an interest in psychology!

Contrary to other views, PSY 002 with Johnson not an enjoyable experience. It was pushed as a requirement rather than an option to attend study sessions with his assistant, Kent Harvey. Basically if you didn't attend the sessions, you were bound to fail or do worse than people who did. This means that Dr. Johnson failed teaching the majority.

I had Johnson for Evolutionary Psych. It's a great class if you're scientifically minded + only 4 essay tests, no paper, no final!

The ultimate professor for the ultimate class in personal well-being. Truly opened my eyes to how to be happy. Questions "common sense" to find the meaning or lack of it behind everything! Take him for an excellent eye-opening course!

With only 2 more classes left for my major in psych, I can say that it was a great introductory course. However, Dr J. is far too baised in the way of forcing his personal philosophy on his students. Not all ppl think the way he does. I can even name a few PSU SCIENCE profs who hold to CREATIONISM.
