His use of P.E.R.S.I.A. questions on finals really helped me to examine issues from a variety of perspectives. Not much on book usage, but tons of handouts--his teaching assistants must be chained to the copiers! Amazing intellect, he and Jodz are the 2 must takes in the History department.

I loved Western Civ II. Only history class I got an A in. His lectures were interesting and I loved that he didn't focus on dates but theories and ideas throughout history. Definitely take him if get a chance.

I loved his class. His lectures aren't very structured, but that's b/c he believes strongly in class discussions. He's very willing to help you if you need it. He even let me take my midterm a week late b/c I was having a hard time. Warning: Part of your grade is participation. I highly recommend him!
