Dr. Arakaki is a great professor. The class I had him for was not in his speciality by any means but he still made it great. He likes to relate texts to modern day considerations and so it makes it a lot easier to follow. He has a clear outline of his expectations but it isn't stringent. Gives your notice about upcoming tests and essays. Great guy.

Such an awesome professor! Definitely knows how to keep the class interested. He always plays youtube videos and talks about the latest technology. Easy weekly quizzes, two tests, and an easy paper. Easy A!

Professor Arakaki is the best teacher. He is always current and up to date, such as if breaking news happens that day, he'll have it up on the board later. His class is very interesting and he shows lots of videos. His tests are easy too and you just need to study the notes. He talks about Twitter and Facebook and it's great. TAKE THIS CLASS!

Jon Arakaki is a very nice person, but that is not what this is about. As a professor I think the only word that comes to mind is incompetence. The coursework is tedious and worst of all, trivial. I am relieved that this is over, but am so very sorry for the future students that are mandated to take his course.

One of the best professors I've ever had at Oneonta, and this was one of the most interesting classes. His lectures are extreemely clear, so you're not all confused when you have to study like with some other professors. His workload (small quiz every week, 3 big tests, one paper) is extreemely fair too. A really nice guy and funny also, the best.

He is so funny! I love going to class he makes it worth your while. Shows great clips and you can send him cool videos you've found...we played wii fit one time and he offered to let some people rap for the class to show off their talents. Easy A...tests are straight from the notes easy papers...absolutely love his class great teacher and person

Awesome guy. Nice, clear, fun, interesting lectures. He shows clips from youtube and videos which help explain things 10x better. Easy tests, 2 papers the entire semester. A quiz every week but they're so simple. TAKE HIM.

His classes are absolutely great! He tells you what he wants, then suggests ways on how to do it, but otherwise doesn't tell you how to do it. Classes are extremely entertaining; you will kick yourself if you miss a class. Try and take as many classes of his as possible before you graduate.

Great class! Uses real world examples, and does so with humor. For a lecture class it's really interactive and communal. 13 quizzes, 10 count. 1 paper that isn't bad, and 3 tests. Take this class!
