Comment:
He gives so, so many papers and grades extremely harshly. Make sure you do the assigned reading for the night or you will have absolutely no idea what's going on in class, and sometimes he calls on random people. Overall a nice guy, but beware about the workload of papers and how tough he grades them!

Logic is not a blow off math credit. IT IS WORK! Grantham doesn't have mandatory attendance, but if you skipped classes, your homework grade decreased. It didn't affect your final grade though if your homework grade was lower than test grades. He's a good professor who is always ready to help his students.

Comment:
Grantham's Logic class was okay. There's a lot of homework, but it's not mandatory to complete. There are three quizzes, a midterm, and a cumulative final. Also very generous with partial credit on tests. If you put in a solid effort, you should be fine.

You're reading this cause you need to fill up a math credit. 1. Logic is still math, it's pretty hard. 2. It doesn't have to be if you: (a) go to class, and (b) do the homework. If you do those things, you will understand it. But if u don't, you will have a D by midterms, regardless of the professor. You can't BS your way through.

I had Grantham for Logic. This class is already tough & Grantham makes it more challenging. He laughed at students when they asked questions & was unclear in explaining the material. He was not all that helpful. I withdrew and ended up taking it with someone else and getting an A. Not sure how he is for other classes, but don't take Logic with him.

I thought philosophy was all about having your own opinion and thoughts, but you better correlate your thoughts with this guy. He gave me low C's on every paper, despite telling me how well-written they were (supposedly because I missed the point. CAN YOU DO THAT IN PHIL?). Content was HARD for an intro course. Should have been a level 300 course.

Grantham is an amazing professor. He usually requires reading for next class period, but not too many pages. He's very big on class participation.. so READ! As for his tests, he gives you the questions that are on it so you are prepared. It's a fun and easy class and I would take it again if I was a philosophy major. Really nice guy.

Logic isn't easy. The people complaining are the ones that didn't go to class/ didn't take advantage of SI and office hours. He is an extremely fair grader and will take his time to walk you through any problems you may have with the material. If you plan on taking the LSAT, this would not be a bad class to consider

When I signed up for Philosophy, I had the expectation that I would slay the game and make an A. But we are about to take the midterm and I am thinking about withdrawing I am so confused. Nothing against Dr. Grantham, he seems like a very intelligent and kind guy, but something about the class did NOT click with me :(

He does not want to hear YOUR taughts unless you agree with him! If he talks about charity work and donating to the poor, do not say you disagree!!! Smile, nod and READ the assigned readings B4 class OR he will not be pleasant to deal with. Couple papers, weekly homework, two tests.

Took him for a couple of classes: Logic and Epistemology. He is a fantastic professor and a great man. I had some personal problems going on and he gave me an extension on my final paper. You can tell he cares about his students. I wish I would have taken him more.

HIs tests and quizzes are hard compared to the homework, but the material itself isn't bad. He's really nice, but the class can get boring when you're going over hw. Attendance isn't mandatory, so if you understand something you can just skip which is nice.

Really nice guy, but the class is way too hard for non-phil majors. Two big papers and an essay midterm and final make up the grade. Overall nice guy but DO THE READINGS

do yourself a favor and TAKE HIM if you need humanities! very nice, clear and helpful. Will give extensions if needed. Two short papers, a few response papers and a midterm and final. Gives exact exam questions so you can go home and prepare them. Do the readings! I hate philosophy, am terrible at it, and Im finishing with an A-.
