I earned a BA in History with much thanks to Dr. Rowe. He is an old-school prof. You need to follow his lecture AND read the book AND figure out the important points on your own. If you work hard, he will work with you. He is also a really cool guy with a ton of interesting experiences. I would encourage students to get to know Dr. Rowe.

Dr. Rowe is a sweet old man! It's crucial to read the book because he gets off subject alot. However, note taking in class is very helpful.

He is the worst professor ever he does not follow the book one minute he will be talking about 1767 then he will jump to 1856 and then back to 1800 all in the same class. It is impossible to take notes in this class and the test are extremly hard

his class is so boring! he doesnt give you notes or anything to study for tests. his grades consist of quizzes that you take like once a week, that are over articles that you print from the internet and also like 3 tests.if you attend class then he curves your grade amazingly,i thought i was getting an F, but i ended up getting a C.avoid this prof.

this man is soooooo boring..my head hurt after every class. I studied the night before every test for like 5 to 9 hours and I got an A in the class. If that's what you like to do go ahead and take rowe, but i would advise you not to.

Ok this guy is like 80 years old and he is boring. His tests are very random and the only notes you have are from him babling about his personal experiences. He dous give a curve, but any other teacher has got to be better.

He is extreamly monotone. He jumps from 1670 to 1850 and then back to 1620 within thirty minets. Extreamly hard to take notes during. I read the book and studied my confusing notes and even tried looking up his study guide points online, failed to bairly passed every test. I did recive a C in the class though just becasue of his gadeing scale.

Well this is osmewhat of a double-sided story here. Sometimes he can be good sometimes he can't. However I took him the fall semster 2005 and his test are really hard even if you put a lot of time into studying.. but if you goto class everyday you get 25 points on final test and 10 extra points on final grade. I came out the class with a b avg.

Dr. Rowe is a kind teacher and he's test are relatively easy if u at least put an effort in reading the book!!! If u ask a question, he does not hesitate to answer it!! Sometimes he even gives u answers to test and quiz questions while taking da exam!!

HE IS VERY BORING HE JUMPS FROM CHAPTER 7 TO 12 THEN TO 5 IN THE SAME DAY WITHOUT ANY WARNING. HE ALSO GIVES YOU A HANDOUT THAT HE SAYS TO KNOW FOR THE TEST BUT IT IS NEVER ON IT. THE TEST ARE VERY HARD YOU CAN READ AND TAKE GOOD NOTES AND STILL FAIL.

Professor Rowe is a very experienced person who knows the ins and outs of the history of American foreign policy. I agree that he is monotone, but solid not taking and extensive reading of the assigned texts will get you through. He expects thoroughness on his exams. Give details, pay attention. He is not an easy person to pass, but if you are used to working in classes then you will have no problem.

I havent understood anything that man has said. I have no notes and even when I try to take notes I never know what to write down. He blabs on about stuff and then says something important...LIKE YOUR SUPPOSE TO KNOW WHEN HE IS TELLING FACTS AND NON-FACTS!
