Mrs. Danford is really smart and knows the material. I could just listen to her lecture all day because she makes it interesting and she is helpful when you want to know more. Tests are a combination or multiple choice, short answer, and essay, but don't be discouraged because they aren't too hard.

Comment:

Professor Danford has to be one of the best classics teachers at UNCG. Her lectures give you everything you need to pass her exams, and she gives you excellent review sheets. She is a somewhat hard grader so make sure you are as specific as possible on exam questions, and you should have no problems in her class.

She knows her stuff very well. Yet, she doesn't know much about other civilizations, or not willing to. That's a drawback for a Yale graduate who MUST be well-rounded about everything in the world. Don't know how to explain this other than :ignorance or intolerance! sorry, that's bad for a college prof in this field. Hope she does more readings.

She was a very pretentious teacher; I could not get past the fact that she seemed rather full of herself given that she has a degree from Yale. Ivy League colleges are rather over-rated in any case. Well, perhaps they weren't when she went there, but they have become a thing of the past really. I can verify this because I was a student at Cornell.

One of the worst teachers that I have had to date. She allows her degree from YALE to go to her head. She tries to help but, often leaves one very confused. Don't take her.

Great class if you've ever been interested in Roman history. Mrs.Danford is great with providing A LOT of names and dates in a way that you're not overwhelmed. Almost as if she's telling a long story.

She was very straightforward about what she expected. She knew and taught her subject well. And she did her best to ensure that everyone had the opportunity to pass i.e. trying to identify your problem if you were struggling with the material. The only problem I had with her was that she didn't incorporate the readings into her lectures enough.
