Liked Professor Oldham. Don't really have anything great or bad to say about her. She's fair in her grading, just be sure to proofread carefully, and to go to her conferences where she'll proofread your work before you turn it in. One thing I didn't like is that you're expected to memorize a TON of authors and their works, just too many of them.

Liked Ms. Oldham. Nothing really great or horrible to say about her. She is fair in her grading, that's good. Didn't like that you're expected to memorize a TON of authors and their works. I'd say take her if her class is the only class you're taking that semester.

I have to admit she is one tough grader! I was even lucky to pass most of her essays. She takes off so many points on your papers for little things. If you take this class, make sure you do all your papers ahead of time, and make sure there reviewed and edited. Also she looks very intimidating, and is very serious. Did not enjoy

She is helpful but do not take if you have a job in retail. Your research paper is assigned over ThG weedend which makes it impossible to get her help which is much needed bc sometimes she'll mark 20pts off for one sentence (wasn't even a grammatical error) bringing an A paper to a C. If I had been right out of HS I would've been fine.

She makes it seem hard but in reality if you actually read the stories she assigns you will be fine. She gives you a month to write your essay plenty of time to proofread. show up to every class for class discussion and pop quizzes. the midterm and final will be based on the quizzes. don't take this class in the morning, you might fall asleep!

I read some of the previous comments and if you have a problem with an ENGLISH professor counting off for grammar and mechanics, then you won't be happy with any professor you get. It's their job. She gives opportunities to have your essays proofread and she will make corrections before you turn in your final draft. How much more can you ask for?

She is not fair on grading, she takes points off like crazy! She is very hard DO NOT TAKE HER, she is also boring. I got a D on her class because she takes points off for commas, run ons etc.For Ex. I got and 90% on the essays and she marked me 60% for all the pints she takes off...

I liked her class a lot. I know other students felt like they had to work fairly hard, but I didn't. I got A's on everything, never went to a conference, and rarely cracked the book.

First day of class and she has a coldness to her. You get locked out of her class if you're late!! She's a very nit picky teacher,but I suppose that can be a good thing. I tend to slack off,but hopefully I'll get my act together to receive a good grade.

Linda is the worse teacher I ever had. she takes points off of the essay like crazy. if you ge 90% be advice that you will end with a 40% because all the points she takes off for grammar, commas, brake paragraphs,etc

I did not enjoy this class at all. This is one of those classes where you walk in and there is dead silence from fear and no one dares asks a question about an assignment. Overall I did find that Linda is fair on grading, just be prepared to work hard and get your papers reviewed!

She was a good teacher, you should have had 1101 and 1102 (101 and 102) prior to taking this class, sticks to the syllabus and gives fair warning for her "suprise quizzes" she gives you twice the effort you give her however this is not the class for slackers.

I never liked english lit before taking Oldham's class. She clearly explains it so that elementary kids get it!! Makes you think about it - brings it to LIFE. Go to class, listen, participate, go to conferences and get an easy A - and in the process - learn something! Awesome teacher!

She is hard, but in order to learn there must be a struggle. She does do conferences for papers, but there is still a chance that you may get something she fixed wrong on the final draft. I think she does it to help the individual learn the proper way to write. Took her for both classes. TAKE HER!!!!
