Comment:

Lectures are extremely dull and difficult to understand. She brushes over concepts expecting you to know it after one go through. A LOT of homework, take 4-6 hours to complete. Barely got a B-. Be prepared to see her during office hours or see a tutor.

Comment:

She is very nice. This class is the hardest class you will take. she does all her lectures off powerpoint annd she has her tablet and she solves problems off of that. Her hand writing is bad she works very fast. she needs to solve problems on the board. her tests are all written ( NO MC). each question on the test is worth between 25 and 55 points.

Comment:

Professor Woodland is a wonderful teacher. The DS 265 course covers some difficult concepts and material. While still challenging, Professor Woodland does everything she can to make the class passable. She provides students with pre-class office hours that can be used for instruction, and responds to emails quickly.

She is an excellent instructor for a tough class. There are generous study sessions where she works through all homework and quiz problems. Becoming proficient in homework and practice problems is a must to pass the course.

Comment:

Business Statistics is going to be a very hard class no matter who it is taken with. Linda was great at offering time for students to come in with questions and get tutoring from her. She gives pretty dry lectures but she works through the problems and tries to help out the best she can. Overall, I would definitely recommend her for this course.

Comment:

Everyone knows Business Stats is a hard class, and that's definitely true. Mrs. Woodland knows that as well. She makes this class as passable as possible. Her grading scale makes this class very passable, and she has two weekly drop in tutoring sessions so people can get extra help. She really wants everyone to pass, and she does her best at it.

She really wants to help. She has office hours, comes to class early, stays after. This is a DIFFICULT class, but she really tries to make the material accessible. She gives regular quizzes to check your understanding. Her tests are long. Her grading scale is curved, not her exams. Do the work and you'll do fine.

Woodland is super cute. She was very helpful when I had trouble with the homework program. She gives you so many opportunities for help outside class and she explains things very well. It's a tough class and she tries to make it easier. Great professor.

She's very straight to the point when it comes to her lectures( same as tutoring)she moves fast and honestly if you are someone who doesn't get math from the start this is not the professor for you. Prepare to be glued to you computer because there is a massive amount of hw. Seek help outside of class, she does not give sympathy grades.

Real talk. This class is over hyped. Woodlands exams are almost identical to her reviews. I didn't pay attention in class. Just watch youtube videos to learn the beginning concepts and then the rest comes pretty easily. I spent the most time going over online homework problems to learn the material. Not terrible at all, ps: Im not great at math...

She will help you when you need help. SI wasn't much of a help, but we formed our own study group (between her 2 sections) and we met at the library every other sunday. This seemed to help people the most.

Woodland is one of the best professors I've had. DS265 is a hard class, but she helps a TON. We had an SI and Woodland held question and study sessions. She is very easy to talk to when you need her and explains things very well. I highly recommend her. Weekly homework that is pretty long and know how to do her practice exams before the real one.

At first I thought she was a great professor, didn't do well in the class the first time and decided to take it again with her and didn't do well again, she is a very tough grader no sympathy for how hard this class is, isn't really organized with her lectures, all over the place.

Amazing. Will sincerely work with you, and gives her time towards helping with the homework. She offers a certain time each week to go over homework problems and she will really walk you through these problems to ensure your comprehending the material. Extremely thankful I had her as a Professor. 100% Highly recommend, I learned a lot from her.

THE BEST PROFESSOR! She is concerned with EVERYONE passing her class. She offers an extra study session after class everyday. I have never had such a dedicated professor before at Eastern. Very approachable and willing to help everyone. I would HIGHLY recommend her for a tough class like stats. I wish more professors at EMU were like her.
