the hw and stuff is definitely a lot but not enough you will NEED the textbook and tutoring if you struggle in math already. use PSP / chapter quizzes which he never goes over btw and are hard af to study for exam bc that's what its on. honestly just take the class another semester with another professor. its not a bad thing

Comment:

Expect homework due every class, along with a quiz in the beginning of each, believes "class time" is for you to ask questions on the homework. He will not teach, he expects you to learn on your own. I suggest making friends in that class, or you'll be on your own. The most laziest teacher, Hw program does everything for him.

the feeling after failing a class especially one you worked this hard in is a heart breaking one. and the look on your parents face when you tell them you failed its literally heart breaking and can be easily avoided not by "hard work" like he'll claim at the beginning of the semester but by not taking his class. hes a wretched old man just defer.

he gives difficult calculus assignments before teaching anything about them and sometimes quizzes. for math if you are a student who needs to shown how to solve a problem and cant teach yourself AVOID. the text book and YouTube teach you the basics, he assigns difficult problems as if he can actually teach, you pay for the class don't waste it.

If you don't go out of your way to figure out the work on your own, you will not survive this class. Lynn Carlson is a fair grader and always gives extensions, but he doesn't do a good job at explaining anything.

Nice guy but I am teaching myself in the class. Online quizzes homework and tests. Is not very good at teaching the material. It is very easy for your grade to slip and very hard to bring it back up. I would avoid this class.

All HW, quizzes, and exams were on webassign. Must teach yourself to pass, he does not have lecture plans but rather just asks if anyone has questions then doing random examples without explaining concepts. Seems to get frustrated when a student is having trouble understanding something. Received a D, retook with Bradley Stewart and got an A.

Terrible teacher! He doesn't teach nor does he have the voice to project the little bit of information hes giving. Expect to teach yourself everything. Tutoring, group sessions, office hours doesn't even help. Also expect the unexpected on exams. Exams do not reflect homework and quizzes. Avoid this class at all cost.

I ended up failing his class even though I went to his office , peer groups and tutoring. He wasn't helpful and talked badly about every major except engineering. He would also say often that we should know HS preCalc and too bad if we didn't. Don't take him ever if you want to maintain your academic excellence. I wish I never did.

He is by far the worst teacher I have ever had. Be ready to teach yourself and come close to failing. Most of my class is. If it wasn't for the class helping eachother out and having tutors, I don't know how we would make it through the class. I strongly suggest anyone, for any class, because this is not my first with him, TAKE ANOTHER PROFESSOR!!!

I'm literally begging anyone that needs this class to find another professor. I'm sitting in his class right now and he's on a long tangent about god knows what. The average on the midterm was a 40. He does not care about the students and does not teach. He will not lose his job unless someone offers him a severence. FIND SOMEONE ELSE!

I hate this professor with a burning passion. I'm sick and tired of professors who don't teach their class. I have to teach myself and the boring work that is business math makes me want to flip a desk every time i get to class and he is standing there with his coffee. DON'T TAKE HIM. He doesn't help you worth a damn, a tutor will be your prof.

I don't know where to start. Worst professor in the institution, and that's saying something. The onus is on the student to teach themselves calculus from the book. 15 hrs+week studying. Quizzes HW and tests all online, NO PARTIAL CREDIT. Doesn't teach. Very full of himself. Made President's list 2 semesters in a row, I'll be lucky to get a B-.

Never take this professor, whether you study hard or not you can not get more than -B No fairness on his grading ,also the homework is a lot but not relevant your test.
