Comment:

Prof. Cormack is very knowledgeable when it comes to teaching, and she is pretty good at conveying that. There are 12 two page papers that are due throughout the course and the readings you write them about can be super confusing. Her grading scale makes no sense and tests are writing only, you have to really study to pass. Final paper is terrible

If you're planning on taking this as an easy, fun gen ed requirement - don't. It's the worst class I've EVER taken. 2 to 3 essays a week that are nearly impossible to get an A on. She assigns more reading than any professor I've ever had. Her exams are essay exams (50 minutes to write multiple essays) She requires a textbook, but never uses it.

This class was extremely hard for me because I'm awful at writing essays. THIS CLASS IS ALL ESSAYS. Failed the midterm miserably.

Very harsh grader. 3 tests, all essays, and you get a study guide for them, but good luck making above a B at best! She's extremely intelligent and I've learned a ton, but at the cost of my GPA. There's a church visit presentation which isn't bad at all. Writing for this class is like walking on egg shells. You'll learn a lot, but at a price.

The HARDEST teacher I have ever taken!!! If you her expect a paper or 2 every week and her tests consist of only essay questions. She never gives feedback, and when you ask for it she makes it known that only her opinion is right and you're always wrong. This should only be a 105 level class but it felt like an upper 200 level class. Don't take!!!

She's pretty intimidating, softens up a little as the year goes on. Nicer in her office hours, but not the kind of professor who will say hi to you outside of class. Toughest grader I've ever had, even as a Junior Religious Studies major. It's all essays, but you need to write like a text book (every name, date, info). Wouldn't take again.

DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER! I took her based off these reviews and they were all wrong! She grades very unfairly. Her lectures are long and boring and her tests are impossible. You also have to write a paper every week and good luck passing those. Don't even try to ask for help because she won't give it to you. Don't take her!

Everything about this class and teacher are dull. It's an easy A, but I gained nothing in the way of knowledge. It was boring. I learned nothing. If attendance wasn't mandatory, I would not have shown up.

Very in depth class full of RELS majors- WOULD NOT recommend for a humanities filler!! A lot of work: weekly short essays, essay exams, and a research paper. Attendance optional, read the textbook. Lectures are a bit dry/boring.

Very very very smart and good professor. She gives lots of extra credit and really good feedback on what she's looking for. ALL ESSAYS, which is wonderful if you are good at that sort of thing. Attendance is mandatory, as we didn't use the book at all (she pretty much wrote her own) Very in depth and NO CUMULATIVE FINAL! Highly recommended!

It's an interesting class, but you must go to it to follow what's going on. Essay exams, but if you ramble enough you'll hit all the points you need. Her lectures are pretty good, but the videos are mostly boring and it doesn't help that it's an 8 a.m. class.
