Smith was my advisor and convinced me to switch out of the department with her extremely discouraging words! I have wanted to be a teacher since I am 6 years old and she told me I would never make it because I transfered to Iona my SOPHOMORE YEAR. Didnt even encourage summer/winter courses. Just told me i didnt belong. Who spoiled her milk?

Really sweet and passionate about education. Only thing is that her powerpoint are not online and kind of goes through the notes fast but other than that she is really nice and has much knowledge of what she is teaching. Tests, exams, and quizzes are very clear in instruction as well.

One of the most rude people I have ever spoken to. I am an education major and she is the head of the department, and every time I have to go speak to her it feels like she is trying to convince me to not become a teacher. Class has quizzes every week. Not a very clear teacher at all.

She is the Chair of the Dept. and cancels class a lot. She knows what she is talking about but she can't teach properly even if her life depended on it. She is not organized and makes you read the textbook chapters which can be over 30 pgs long and tests on random things never discussed in class or in the textbook. Avoid if possible!!!

DO NOT TAKE HER, you she is very knowledge in her field of study however she is VERY unclear. she really makes it difficult than it needs to be. she doesn't really even show how to solve most of the problems given, its like she reviews for herself and just gives us the online homework to complete. not the class to take if you want an easy A or B+

DO NOT TAKE! SAVE YOURSELF. The test are nothing like anything you do in class and you will find yourself staring at the test. Is very unclear and relies on a calcuator which does not help. If youre smart take it but if you struggle dont cause you will just end up dropping it and having to retake it at another time

if your not good at math do not take her. she is very smart but not very clear . the practice questions in class are not the same as the test. uses the textbook and an online system for some homework. although she is difficult to understand she tries her best to explain something again if you do not understand it, and shes very helpful.

So I took her for MTH 123, which is supposed to be the easiest math class at Iona? I feel as if she made it more difficult than it needed to be, especially the tests. She seems like an arite lady, I wouldn't recommend taking her though if you're really just not a math person. If you're into math and whatever I guess you can get by in her class.

Thank goodness for Dr. Smith!!! What a fantastic teacher who is passionate, intelligent and well-versed. I worked harder in her class than I ever have before but it was definitely worth it. She made a major contribution to my undergraduate experience and wish she could teach more courses for undergrad education majors!-[p[-p
