Comment:

She's very passionate about gender and sexuality. Easy A as long as you show up and participate. Graded on two 1-page papers, a group presentation, and a midterm and a final. Books are required and used for the midterm and final. If it is obvious that no one is reading, she does quizzes. My class convinced her to do Kahoots for the quizzes

I would recommend her. She is very disorganized and can be unclear with deadlines, but this can be cleared up easily with an email or question in class. She is very knowledgeable, passionate, and wants to help her students move up in the world. Every class is a discussion. Very funny and holds your attention.

DO NOT take her online course. I spent hours and hours per day doing horrible online work. The online program is awful and will make you very frustrated. At that point, just take a real class during the semester. Professor Lopez-Luaces is also horribly unprofessional and her emails make 0 sense. I don't think she does ANYTHING for this class.

She is an excellent professor! She teaches you future things that you should know. She taught me a lot of things I know today like how to negotiate my salary and more. She talks a lot but invites you to the conversation and encourages you to participate. She does not discriminate at all. Books are important because they are on the Mid+Final exams.

This lady is a great professor. Fall 2017 was her first semester teaching Women and Gender Studies and she was a little disorganized but she tries to make the class easier to pass! Exams are take home word or google docs:). She is strict with attendance so u be in most classes. Shes very caring and not to mention shes funny and inspirational.

I took this professor for intro to women and gender studies. She is a great professor. You learn a lot of important information that is very useful for everyday life. She is very smart and knows her stuff. Sometimes assignments can be unclear(accent) Homework once in a while. 1 group presentation. Mid-term and final.

Professor Lopes-Luaces is a very profesional, caring and inspirational who really engage with students, making us to be mindful about what and why we should learn the topic she is teaching, her classes are fun, knowledgeable and can be apply in our real life situations. Very good to have her as a teacher.

This professor is truly amazing. The aura that this woman carries shines through her personality. She is so genuinely nice! I would highly recommend her to anybody. She gives weekly quizzes to help boost you grade. I wish I could take every class at MSU with Marta!

Marta is great. Took her for Span 101 & 102. I wish they let her teach 103, i would take it; even though I dont need it. She focuses on conversation but the school wants her to teach to the test. her philosophy is if you study the material, you shouldn't have an issue passing. She doesn't try to make it tricky or hard. Homework all online.

I took Prof. Lopez-Luaces twice, Fall of 2013 for SPAN 349 and Spring SPAN 376 Cultural studies (on a Saturday!). She is AMAZING! Highly recommend her to learn and learn well! She's incredibly helpful and wants her students to truly learn material. She's fast, animated and helped my Spanish writing tons! One of the best Spanish profs I had at MSU!

Was not feeling this class at all initially. She calls on everyone, regardless of whether you know the answer or not, but she's not doing it to be mean, she just wants you to grasp the material. Once I realized this, I was cool with it. You have to prepare for tests and group work, but she's a very fair grader. Do the online HW!!!

I personally had a lot of fun in Dr. Lopez's class. If you read the book and study before quizzesexams, you won't have a problem. Her only problem is that she is very unorganized when it comes to writing on the board, but other than that she is a great professor!

Professor Lopez is awesome! The most animated professor I've ever had. She teaches boring topics in the most interesting way possible. She helped me a lot with writing in Spanish by correcting papers in depth. I already speak it fluently but she inspired me to go study in Spain. I highly recommend everyone and anyone to take her! :D

she is probably the MOST easy going professor ive EVER had. in the class i am sure i didnt get more then a C- at best but she gave me a B+ as the final grade. i know i prolly got less then a 60 on the final exam as well. but overall shes an amazing professor, she has a great interest in the subject and her students learning it. TAKE HER!!!!!!

Awesome professor. I never thought I'd actually learn Spanish, but she made it really easy to understand. She's a lot of fun, always laughing with the class. Participate and study and you'll do great. Mid-term and final are the biggest challenges since she doesn't make them, but she prepares you the best she can. Would recommend taking her.

She is a great professor. Active, funny, and she tries to engage every person in the class to speak the language. She does quiz you every week, but that helps you prepare for the midterm and final which are departmental. Just take an hour or two each week to review last class and you will do fine. HW is online and due at the end of semester.

I love her! she is very helpful and explains things over for you until you understand it! she has a lot of energy too. not much hw except doing the online spanish activities and a easy quiz each week. two exams which arent hard. Take her if you can cuz she's great i swear!!
