Comment:

I took this course online and never had a chance to meet Mary Curik in person. I made an A+, but found her agendas for each week difficult to follow. This was very much a self-taught course with too much homework. I had believed that taking a computer course online made a lot of sense, but I think it would have been better to take it in person.

I did not like this class at all, a ton of work every week (a lot of it is just mindless and repeatetive) and basically her online class is a self-taught course. If you have a question she tells you to open the "Help" menu and/or waits till (hopefully) one of your classmates responds. She grades fair and quickly though.

Her assignments were clear and she graded fair and even gave some extra credit. I took this class online and thank God. It was the easiest class I ever took; I couldn't imagine taking the in a class room (I watched TV the whole time and got a 97%). TAKE THIS CLASS DL!

I took a distance learning class. I recommend this instructor for this class. There is a lot of work required i.e. textbook and exams, but you had two chances on most of the exams, and a good chance to make an A if you do all the required work. The instructor always helped if there were any problems, and my E-mails were always answered.

Mary always have a good sense of humor and a positive attitude. She challenges us to learn, but she also helped me to realized not to give up on myself and my achievements in her class when I was grieving the death of my mother. She will work with us and help us when we need it. She's fair. CIS 273 is Macromedia Flash

The amount of work she gives is ridiculous, she gives way too much. She does not answer her e-mails right away and has made a lot of mistakes in her grading. If you take her for DL I advise you to take screen shots of your online test scores because she'll give you zeros or a lower grade than you actually got.

I would reccomend this class. The work itself is not hard but the amount of work seemed a bit excessive. I'm not sure if DL is different then in class as far as homework goes. Overall I enjoyed this class and would highly reccomed it as a DL class.

Mary is very organized and very helpful. She tries to understand and help each student on an individual basis. She is very fun and easy-going and is willing to give you more time on assignments if you need extra help. I also took Business Web Graphics just because she taught it.

At first, I was a little overwhelmed with Flash, but after I realized all the things it could do, I found it really amazing! It turned out to be a great class, after all, thanks to Mary's approach to teaching and the subject! Definitely recommend her!!!!!!!

Very organized and helpful in learning MS application of Word. Very laid back and casual in her teaching methods. She makes sure that you the student makes it through the semester. If her being from the west isn't the difference to learn in her class!
