I personally think she is a great professor. I've taken 2 English classes with her and I've learned so much in both. She shouldn't be considered a "bad" teacher because she makes you work for your grades and in my opinion, that's what makes her great. She isnt going to go easy on you but she is definitely there to help!! get on her good side!!

I took her for my ENG101 class and I would never ever recommend her. She is very passive aggressive and nasty to her students and makes you feel inferior and stupid, even if you do great. She does not pause for questions and makes you feel dumb for going out of your way to ask and make sure that you completely understand something. AVOID!!!!!!!!!

This professor has been the worse one yet. her grading does not make sense, Id have people go over my essays and somehow she would always grade me no higher then a 75, i did all the required work for discussions and she legit would deduct points with no explanation or reason behind it other then thats how she grades. avoid if you can

Comment:

Prof Warrener made me love Shakespeare! She took a whole week (sometimes more if it's a long play) explaining every important detail of the play and by the end of the play, I was an expert on it. The papers were pretty straightforward and she answered any questions I had. I will be taking her again in he future. Highly recommend!

I have taken 3 classes with Professor Warrener, two in person and one online. Her instructions are always clear. She is always around to answer questions. After every essay I went to her office; she would explain why I got the grade I did and how I could do better. If you do the homework you will pass.

Shakespeare, a great class. I did not like it in High School, but Prof Warrener brings him to life as long as you read and do the work. She is very interesting and helpful, office hours are great for one on one. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to learn and learn how to write properly. Thanks Prof Warrener, great class.

The amount of work that Prof. Warrener assigns may seem like a lot at first, but it's doable. She gives enough time to complete everything. There were 3 short essays, a midterm, a final, and about 4 quizzes, along with the required online discussions. It was mostly the discussion requirements that annoyed me the most, but she's a very fair grader.

I took her online Hebrew Bible Old Testament Class. Fair amount of reading that corresponds with discussions. Discussions need to be answered thoroughly with citations from textbook. log on 3 times for attendance and respond to discussions, ( 4 ) 2-3 page papers, midterm and final mult. choice... Extra credit . Responds quickly to emails. Easy A.

Had 2 literature classes with her. Amazing professor. Tough grader. I was able to pull an A on 2 papers between the 2 classes, she has high standards but they are by no means unrealistic. Her discussion forums and quizzes are easy A's and will boost your grade if you're struggling with papers. She made me a better writer.

Professor Warrener is my favorite English teacher at OCCC. She makes all of the books and plays come to life. She is a strict but fair professor. She is not going to hand you the answers on a silver platter, but encourages students to create strong interpretations with hard evidence to back it up. I would take her class again in a heartbeat,

She was extremely hard and an even harder grader. Terrible grading guidelines and took off way too much for minor errors. Asks for clarity when following sentences clearly explain. I don't recommend her at all!

Promotes independent interpretation of plays yet gives useful insight during in class discussions. More than happy to help those that seek advice outside of the classroom. Will go over paper with you before due date if you ask her for help. Best English teacher I ever had.

I went to her office numerous times, and she never spoonfed me any answers. She grades very hard. Working hard is no guarentee of getting an A. Pretty much you will get the grade you received from your first assignment. She wants you to agree with her,not think independtly. I learned nothing from her class. I would not recommend her to anyone.

this professor is very clear on breaking down poems and stories. She is not like most English teachers. She tells you on the first day that she expects you to come up with your own interpretation and does not expect you to see it the way she does.makes reading fun.
