Professor Beckwith is one of the best teachers at Iona. He really cares about each of his students and if you talk to him about anything in the class your struggling with or if you need extra time or help he is very understanding. He is so nice and funny and his classes are pleasant to be in. TAKE HIM!!!!!!!!

Comment:

Very intelligent and understanding but don't take advantage of it. Online homework is a solid chunk of the grade. You actually have to read to keep up but the out-of-class reading is minimal. Enjoys giving bits of fun information and is overall a great professor, especially for an early class.

He's amazing! Took him for both English and Latin this semester. Both were easy As. The only difference is that for his Latin class you need to put in a little more work but it's nothing that will make you lose sleep over. Would recommend to everyone

He has a really good grasp on the reading material for this course. He teaches everything with a lot of enthusiasm. I took this as an 8am on a Monday morning, and he makes that class slightly less boring. You have 1 paper, midterm and final, and a bunch of in class writing assignments. If you know what the books are about, you'll be fine.

Professor Beckwith is honestly one of the greatest professors I've had at Iona. He explains everything clearly and is always willing to help if you have trouble. His class is very laid back and I would definitely take him again.

He's very nice and willing to help if you need any. He explains a lot in class and though he sometimes goes off on tangents they're generally interesting and he is willing to push back work if you don't get as far as you were meant to in class (ie, you don't have to know anything he fails to cover in time).

One of my favorite teachers at IONA! I personally dont like to read old english books but he makes them very enjoyable and understandable. Midterm/final and one paper. some journal entries but nothing crazy. Take him for LATIN too hes awesome.

I love miles! he sadly had to take a semester off due to illness. If you actually read and answer questions in class he will love you and give you an A! He makes the boring classical stories not so awful. I got an A on the midterm without studying, just by reading when I was supposed to.
