She definitely involves a lot of personal opinion in her teaching and does not specify anything. She is very much against technology and likes to talk over students in class so much so that it feels like youre being talked at more than you are actively learning much of anything. I would avoid taking her for any class no matter the level available.

She has made me regret taking her class for the past twelve weeks. Ms. Polzer is so rude and a strict grader but the funny part is she doesnt even grade good. She tried to say I was plagiarizing all because she skimmed over my sources and didnt actually read my paper and tried to call me out in front of the entire class and Im not the only one

Shes rude, all I have to say, she can be so difficult to understand and then when you ask her to clarify she gives you this nasty attitude. Shes pretty unchill and is more into the conservative teaching style like no technology or etc. her teaching is also sub par because like I said she has a hard time getting her point across and understanding

She goes over all you need to know in the lectures, so reading is not required. Some assignments are long, but she gives very detailed instructions and grades very easy. TONS of extra credit opportunities. Few assignments. GIVES EXAM STUDY GUIDES WITH ALL THE QUESTIONS! You can use notes on the essay parts of exams! Overall, easy A

Natalie Polzer was an extremely tough grader, and it was very difficult to understand exactly what she expected you to write in order to do well. Writing assignments were very common. She likes when a student is opinionated and descriptive, but if she doesn't agree with your perspective, then you will receive a low grade.

Dr. Polzer is a great professor. She takes a lot of flack for being tough, but she is absolutely fair. I learned more about Jewishness, as well as college writing, from her than I ever have from another UofL professor. Take the time to get to know her and you will see it was worth it. She loves to see passion about the subjects she teaches.

Dr. Polzer was both the toughest professor I've ever taken, and my favorite. She holds her students to high standards, and will make you earn both her respect and your grade, but she's always fair, and always willing to work with you when life happens. Be warned, though: do not take her classes if you are not serious about learning.

great professor! very smart!! and very friendly i thinkyes, she does not like use of technology in class and you will get reprimanded if you have your phone out but she is very welcoming and always available outside of class, willing to work with students and very accommodating she is willing to work with students one on one as well

My two cents: avoid her unless you can't. If you can't, be prepared to spend a lot of time on papers and in her office. Don't ask questions in class unless you really have to know right then because she will probably make you feel silly and dismiss anything not brilliant as irrelevant. She is not the nicest. Be prepared to suffer for that A

Dr. Polzer is a great professor. You will learn a lot from writing the papers and she is always available outside of class if you need extra help and she will go over your papers with you. Be weary of speaking in class though, if she doesn't agree she will shoot you down. She also gives extentions on papers so you can take your time.

Prof. Polzer knows EVERYTHING about Judaism. She's the best professor you can get for this course. She doesn't assign a lot of work, just a few papers and the final exam. She offers extensions on all the papers, so you can basically just take your time writing them. She also offers a lot of extra credit. It's hard to fail this class.

Very interesting person. Great connection to have if you're a Jewish studies minor. The field trips were great and she's a lot less intimidating out of the class room setting. The "Learning Cell" papers are difficult, but you will learn a lot from them if you work hard. I look forward to taking many more classes with her in the future.

As a non-traditional student with a penchant for writing, I found the class VERY challenging.Attendance is a must for success. When writing papers, every sentence counts.Prof. Polzer rewards introspective writing.Regurgitated facts & personal opinion='no-no'.Solid grasp of material & ability to write well=A.Worth your time-but tough & 'old school'.

I regret taking this class. I honestly would not recommend this class to anyone, even if they had a sincere interest in Jewish Thought and Culture. She is one of those people who is overly arrogant and rubs you the wrong way. If youre thinking of taking her, dont.

If you intend to pass you must attend every class session and do ALL the readings. I would recommend taking this class only if you are a part time student, and basically have all your time to devote to this course. The grading scale is unreal, and you're never really sure what she's asking for. Be careful about speaking in class.

I have no idea how a person with as poor of an attitude as she has keeps a job. She was combative and looked to humilate students in class. She got fired from a job and claimed she was harrassed. That was probably not the case as she has no concept of being wrong. Don't take her classes unless you like confrontations.

I do not believe she has any concern for the ability of her students. Rather, she teaches at an advanced level which can be very often be bewildering. Her tests require knowledge of a good deal of minutia.
