Easy A if you put forth the effort, but I don't think I learned anything. Can be a bit passive-aggressive at times. Always got out 1 to 1+1/2 hours early. Try and you'll do fine. He was going through some health issues, so that might play a role. Easy class, but not if you want to learn/feel respected. Unclear grading too.

Comment:

Nelson it a great instructor of both this class along with the other classes (Ethics and philosophy)that he teaches. He is firm about respect for the class and others in his class. Just make sure you show up for class, participate, show respect and actually do the work and you will pass very easily. Great Instructor!!!

Comment:

The textbook in this class can be difficult to understand. Also, all of his tests are made up entirely of essay questions. The class is made up of 3 tests, 2 journals, and a project. He definitely has an accent, but you get used to it. If I were to do it all over again, I would probably take some class other than ethics to fill the gen. ed. req.

I dropped Nelson's class after 2 sessions. DO NOT take this class if you don't appreciate you and your fellow classmates being poked fun at and humiliated every session. Nelson apparently thinks it's okay to say cruel things as long as he uses a joking tone. I'll be retaking this class with a DIFFERENT professor next semester.

Comment:

Nelson is a friendly, easy to understand professor. He really cares about you laerning the principles of Philosophy and carrying them into your everyday life. It's hard to find a teacher as dedicated to the students as he is. He is also a very intelligent person whom I could sit and talk to for hours. Definitely recommend him as a teacher.

Nelson is a great teacher. He doesn't even need notes, he just knows his stuff. His attitude bothered me at first, but now his passion just makes me passionate about learning. I think he is the best teacher I have ever had. Very intelligent and funny.

He is the best instructor,i have ever seen.So understanding,helpful and much much more.You dont feel bored going to his class. Even if you had a morning face,u will end up smiling just after getting into his class and u feel like not to leave the class when its over. I have not seen such a thing with other classes.I grade him as the best instructor

Okay, so he is and excellent teacher and it was always great to go to his class. Why do you think I took him for two semesters? Well it could've also been that his total foxiness and wonderful accent made the most boring philosopher come to life.
