She is very personable but an extremely hard grader. Attending her class is a must. It is most definitely her way or the highway. She is not afraid to let her opinions on matters to be known. I've had both better and worse professors than her.

She is a tough grader. She is entertaining during class though. However, she is inflexible and it's her way or the highway.

She is an awesome person and great to talk to outside of class. Although she is very hard grader, her tests for interpersonal communication are impossible... she gives you a lot of homework and expects you to put a lot of effort into her class. She does keep class entertaining and she is very funny a and sarcastic.

Ridiculously hard grader, expects everything to be perfect. Not clear at all with what she expects from you. I would definitely get another professor if at all possible.

She was a good teacher. She assigned a lot of homework but most of it wasn't too hard. Just a lot of busy work.

I had her for Oral Comm. She's a great speaker as she should be. I never went to my "happy place" during her lectures. She is somewhat a tough grader on speeches. Fair though. I like her humorous sarcasm (and I normally don't like sarcasm). She's pretty cool and funny. She does make you stand up and stretch every once in a while.

Despite being a good teacher and being clear in her lectures, her tests are produced in the ninth circle of hell. I felt like she was much more inclined to help female students she knew from other classes as well.

I really appreciate Dr. Pier. This class was hard but she is one of the few profs that has the guts to teach this subject.

An awesome woman. She is very much a feminist, but if you are open minded she won't bother you. She can be somewhat hard to take right away but once you get to know her she is amazing. My favorite prof at Wartburg in and out of the classroom. She has a true concern for her students and wants them to succeed.

One of my favorite professors. She's tough, but she covers the information very well and makes class a lot of fun. She's a very opinionated woman and I found her strong feminism irritating at first, but if you get past that, you develop a strong bond. She is very personal with her students and tries to be your friend and teacher.

Probably the best teacher for Oral Comm, for she will actually TEACH you to speak better. Yes, she's a hard grader, and yes, her no-holds-barred feminism is irritating, but she's one of the few people I know who's capable of arguing both sides of an issue equally well and piss off everyone in the process. That takes talent. Go Penni.

Wonderful professor! She is very opinionated which scared me at first, but she just wants you to be able to back up your own opinions. She's helped me a lot in and out of the classroom. Her tests are hard but as long as you study you will do well!

She made me think I was improving but then butchered me on speech grades. Her tests are brutal, one can be over 10 chapters of the book & stuff you learned in class. I never knew what to study. She's funny though, if that makes a difference.

I think that anyone that gives her a bad rating is just taking everything she says way too personally. She has her opinions, and only asks that you back up your own. Any other good professor asks the same.
