Comment:
Okay, do not take accounting 200 with this professor. I came into the class knowing financial statements, and he somehow found a way to make them confusing. This is by far the worst class I have ever taken at the University of Arizona. Lectures are atrocious and he ramble about nonsense forever. Blanchard is incompetent.

I think the 3 financial statement homeworks are pointless because he never posts answer keys so even if you wanted to learn something from them you cant. Lectures are boring. He spends too much time talking down about people who dont show up to his class. I showed up almost everyday and barely learned anything because the lectures are so boring.

By far the most ineffective lecturer at UA. Spends at least 35 minutes each class droning on about "integrity" and how to use WileyPlus for HW. Nearly impossible to learn anything from this guy, oh and you're required to purchase a clicker, software, Wileyplus account & etextbook to even do HW. $200+ to not learn a damn thing from the guy

The powerpoints he makes are exactly from the book so they're really useful, except he spends more time going over the problems instead of the material itself. This is a class you really to put effort into. Reading the book really helps. He is a nice guy though.

Asks questions not on homework. Ineffective teaching style. His class felt like a prison because he enjoyed holding the students hostage. Do not be fooled by his easy-going appearance! He is very unreasonable and enjoys a tyrannical reign.

Very straightforward teaching style. It helps to have someone straightforward if you are an over-thinker. Extremely thorough lectures. Just go to class it's worth it. Provides tons of additional practice.

Awesome professor. He explains the formulas, and concepts well. He has a vast vocabulary and will demonstrate it often. He will provide you with multiple ways to solve problems because he wants you to do well. Prepare prior to lecture by reading the assigned chapter and you will get much more out of the class. One of the best professors I've had.

I've had Blanchard for a full year, 200 and 210. This man with out a doubt is one of the better professors at U of A. That being said you really have to understand the material and focus in every class time and set aside 5ish days to study. He's a great teacher if you put in the work, or awful if you are looking to skim by and not go to class

He has a very good grasp of the subject matter and conveys it well, but it is imperative that you do not miss any of the lectures to avoid falling behind. He will make it abundantly clear what is and is not important to learn in terms of success for the examinations, and doing the clicker questions and financial statement homework well is vital.

Blanchard is very smart and cool outside of class, but his lectures are tough. He often skips slides before people are done writing and they are extremely boring. You will have to teach yourself a lot of the material on your own because at times he doesn't explain well.

His lectures are very informative, but he moves through them very quickly as if we all have a background in accounting and all these terms and formulas aren't brand new to 90% of us. Does give very good study guides before that always line up with the exams. Does random clicker questions for attendance, participation, and bonus points.

He's teachers specifically to audible learners. He talks through problems & assumes you can follow along in his head. This class feels like we would have had an accounting class before-- he acts like all these terms & concepts should be second nature to us even though absolutely all of the information is new.

If you show a genuine effort and interest, Blanchard will do his best to help you. Also pay attention in his kinda boring lectures because he throws hints as to what will be on the test. Also he likes to give quizzes right after a test, especially on a problem that a lot of people missed.

He is the worst teacher i've ever seen. Taught nothing during the lecture, half of the class dropped the course after the second test. Homework is hard, you gotta learn the material by yourself so you can barely finish the homework.

Not helpful at all, hates finance majors, basically just thinks we were inadequately prepared so he takes it out on us and makes you learn everything on your own. Class time is basically a waste as he just stands there and rambles on about how important accounting is during his lectures.. take it with someone else.. if u wanna be a finance major

This beyond the worst class I have taken at the U of A. All he cares about is Accounting majors. He literally spends his whole entire time preaching about irrelevant information that does not even coincide with the test. Beyond the worst professor in accounting. AVOID WASTING YOUR MONEY AND TAKE A DIFFERENT CLASS.
