Even though she wont hold your hand during the semester, she will help you if you ask. If you genuinely need help and ask she will make time to help you, she is funny and she will go into depth in her lectures that will help you understand. Do her work and you will pass

Extremely educated on U.S. History!!! Tons of reading and many essay assignments! Teaches honors, it shows in her regular class: Very high standards, won't hesitate to deduct points. Over 75 pages for this class on just homework. MATERIAL ISN'T HARD, HW + HER GRADING IS! "I need sleep..." - Her class #introclass Grades in other classes may suffer.

Marks-Ellis really does know what she is talking about when it comes to this class. The problem is she doesn't give enough feedback on assignments but assumes we know what is missing. Also, she gives very lengthy papers due very close together. Good teacher, but you have to work hard and stay on top of her work, otherwise passing is impossible

She spends at least 15-20 mins per day lecturing students for simple mistakes rather than moving forward w/ the lecture. Her lectures are great to listen to and engage in. The workload isn't hard to do so far. She's just very short tempered over peoples mistakes and it's actually annoying unless the whole class is 100% perfect

Had a 120 question quiz the first week of class on things that we didn't even learn yet. During the last 2 weeks we had to take a 100 question quiz, a research paper as well as a final paper. The course is horrible, don't take her !!

Marks Ellis is one of the best professors at CSi. Her lectures are very interesting. I really enjoyed her class. Do you work, she won't let you down. She is amazing professor.

she gives pop quizzes, she is extremely hard on you but she does teach you. she gives a lot of extraa credit toward the end of the class

she can be harsh at times but once the class cooperate with her she seems to be nice believe or not. never gives a chance to copy notes from the slid. towards the end of the semester she really goes full force with a 5-6 page paper, a quiz which is considered a test and a final which was 3 essays in a matter about a month and a half.

She is very tough and honestly doesn't teach the material well. That being said she gives extra credit. She knows her stuff but just isn't good at teaching it. I would not take her again because I am personally am not good in history classes and she didn't help. If you are taking this class I hope you know your history.

The worst professor I've ever had. Tough grader and she doesn't give any feedback so you don't know why you got the grade that you got. Spoke about a project the entire semester and didn't assign it until 3 days before it was due. This was an intense paper due on the same day as the intense final. I'm an A student and I got a C. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!

Marks Ellis isn't that bad, but i will say this, she EXPECTS STUDENTS TO BE LIKE 100% RIGHT ON EVERYTHING. I mean come on now, this is a class for Freshmen not seniors, she makes the class more difficult than its supposed to be. She is nice at times but ugh most annoying professor ever !

really gives great lectures. super fun. if you participate in class like alot she will love you!!!!! tries to scare you at first but half her assignments dont even count as anything other than extra credit but she wont tell you that until after. participate and follow her formats and you'll do great

Oh my God, she's a good teacher, needless to say. she's very knowledgable but SHES SUCH A HARSH GRADER. never in my life have i ever struggled with grades in ANY class, let alone american HISTORY!! I aced that in highschool and the concept is pretty much the same, just with some extra details. BUT SHE GRADES SOOOOOO HARSH!!! BEWARE!!!
