I almost switched my majoy to Geography because of Dr. Jackson. He is an engaging teacher and while can be challenging, helps you to learn the important things and remember them!

Comment:

The best Professor in the World! I took his class in 1982 and he inspired me to become a City Planner. I am nearing retirement & have started teaching at a local college to give back to the students what Dr. J. gave me -- I always use him as my role model when teaching. He is both a great man and professor! Joseph W. Wright, Class 1984 & 1987.

Dr. Jackson will be missed. I would not be majoring in Geography if it weren't for him. If he is still around in Spring/Summer take a class from him. His tests for 250 are easy... I'm not smart or someone who studies.

This class is really, really interesting and I learned sooo much, BUT it is way hard! Prof. Jackson is REALLY unclear about what he wants with projects and on test questions and its pretty frustrating. This class is good if you're prepared to learn ALOT and work really hard! I highly recommend weekly review sessions and do ALL the extra credit!

I really loved this class. It was a great class and I learned a lot. I liked prof. Jackson as a teacher and he seemed pretty easy to me. He knew a lot about the subject and taught really well. I would highly recommend this class and this professor.

This professor plans way too much for one lecture period and always runs out of time. He speeds though the lecture slides so fast and expects you to know everything they cover. He'll test you on things you dont even remember covering. With so much material, you dont know what to study for the tests. He's a nice guy, just a poor teacher!

Geography 120 was the best class I took last semester. I would recommend it to anyone. He prides himself on having ambiguous and unfair questions, but if 80% of the class missed it he'll drop the question. TAKE THE CLASS, then go to a review session once a week and do all the extra credit.

Dr. Jackson is a really good teacher! He knows everything there is to know, but often makes people feel stupid for speaking up in class. The book isn't too important, most of his tests come straight from his powerpoints and lectures. On the syllabus it says to go and meet him in his office -- don't. He'll know your name and call on you constantly.

He is not open to opinions and he goes of on so many tangents, even though sometimes he is funny. He gives 20 pts EC. The tests are pretty hard. I loved this class! Professor Jackson is hilarious & does a good job teaching because he knows everything about geography! This class was very interesting but it's not exactly an easy class. Take advantage of the review sessions because they help SO much with assessments! I took this as a freshman & I got an "A" after working moderately hard in it.

This is a great class. you will learn a ton and have a good time if you just listen and go to class. I recomend going to the review sessions at least everyother week or once a week. He has funny jokes and he knows about everything. If you want a pretty easy class that gives a good knowldge this is the class.

Not too hard of a class. I'm a freshman and I got an A in the class. Just go to the TA review sessions and go to class and you'll do fine. He's a really nice man and a good professor. I highly recommend the class. You will learn a lot.
