I find it funny how many people have issues with Dr. St. Germaine... I thought he was an extremely insightful, funny, and professional professor. It's unfortunate that he is retiring. I would recommend him to anyone.

This class was extremely difficult. There is a huge paper that many people fail, but if you manage your time and work hard you can do well. I was able to get an A on my paper. Partner tests. But many hours of studying are needed ahead of time. Just prepare yourself ahead of time and you'll be fine.

I think this class was really easy. He always returned by email and not rude like other people said. The group work is a lot of fun and I made a lot of new friends because of it. Creativity in this class is key.

He is extremely rude and not helpful at all. If your confused don't expect a response because you wont receive one. He enjoys giving students zero credit for lots of hard work and dedication. I guarantee if you take the class you will regret it and be constantly angry and frustrated with his expectations and lack of adequate teaching skills.

Just really bad. I'm a history education major and the way he conducts class is just awful. Tests are difficult even though he gives you the answers. Intelligent man to be sure but he uses "team work" so he can be lazy. AVOID IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.

Bad prof overall. Rude to students and doesn't care to answer questions or help. The class is mostly group work so if you are busy with other academics don't take this class. he is weird and not helpful at all. I wouldn't take this class. i got an A but the class was stressful..... Germaine is not very nice.

While I found the class intresting, I found the proffesor at times hard to talk to and a little bit rude when I tried to ask him for feedback on a paper. A lot of group work which is hard if you have a bad group. The homework was fine, and the reading was intresting.

This was the best history class I have ever taken. The semester video project was an awesome experience. St. Germaine doen't care if you make it to class, just as long as you do your work. Great class. Highly recommend it.

St.Germaine is sometimes flat out rude to students, especially when you ask questions he feels are stupid/obvious. He is also kind of annoying and acts very self-righteous. He also clearly told our class that he keeps a list of students who went to the writing center with him when he grades, which obviously biases him when he grades.

A difficult class. Hated it the whole time I was taking it. Didn't help that it was 8am. He expects a lot from you and lots of groupwork and time outside of class. I recommend taking it with a friend. It was hard, but I was still surprised with a good grade at the end. If you go and talk to him a few times and participate in class you'll be fine.

his classes are not for slackers or people who don't like group work. he admires creativity and has unique (but hard) projects. need to put in a lot of time outside class. the exam questions are directly from the notes he gives so that part is easy. offers study sessions for exams. lots of extra credit opportunities. gotta work HARD for good grade.

very intelligent instructor. is crystal clear when giving instructions and due dates. always answers questions and returns emails. makes you work really hard, but not an overly tough grader. only take his classes if you do well with group work. offers an exam review and good in-class note outlines. be ready to work hard, but it's SO WORTH IT.
