Prof. Brown was amazing to have as a professor my freshman year. He never takes anything too seriously, always has something interesting to say, and is one of the most compassionate people you'll ever meet. Clearly loves the subject and knows how to make it interesting. Loves to talk with students after class about nearly anything. Incredible guy.

Comment:

He has a great personality and likes to familiarize himself with his students. His lectures are great! He may wander a bit in discussion but it always connects to the subject. He is really passionate about what he teaches and cares about his students. I learned a lot from this class and would definitely take it again!

Rob Brown cares about each of his students and wants to make sure they learn the material. He easily goes off on tangents when asked a question, but somehow it works for him. Hilarious and a very chill class, but be warned: if you don't pay attention and take good notes, the tests will destroy you

Dr. Brown made this class unforgettable. He is such fun, and spunky man. However, his tests were SO HARD. All of his tests are based on lectures, which are unorganized and tend to get us off topic. There are four easy assignments that are 40% of your grade and will help. GO TO CLASS. Attendance is 10% and you either earn all or none of the points

Just a quirky dude who loves him some geography (and blues-y rock music). Makes the content interesting and fun. 3 exams based on content covered in class only, 4 exercises that require you to analyze data and articles and write a summary or analysis paper (nothing too bad). Good for non-stressful class that's actually interesting.

He's funny & easy going. He tries to get to know his students. Really likes music. Lectures are really unorganized and its easy to get off track but make sure you take good notes even if it doesn't seem important or relevant-makes the tests based on what you talk about in class. The tests are a little hard but no papers & 3-4 easy assignments

This was my easiest class of the semester. Every week, all you had to do was watch the lecture videos and take a 10-15 question lecture quiz or read an article and write a 1 1/2-2 page paper on the theme of the article. Sometimes, in place of those, he would assign some other activity. Not a hard class, but he would take a long time to post work.

Dr. Brown is the best professor I've ever had! He is really funny and makes geography really interesting. Honestly I considered changing my major to geography because of him. Great guy, great class.

Rob Brown isn't for everyone, but he's by far my favorite professor I had in undergrad. Very laid back, and he goes off on a lot of tangents but they're all pretty interesting. Geography can be a pretty dry subject, but all the cultural stuff he adds in makes it really interesting. Take him if you can, I took him 4 times.

Professor Brown is pretty cool and his lectures are usually interesting, but be sure to pay super close attention and TAKE REALLY GOOD NOTES. I always thought he was getting off topic, but he includes everything/anything from lectures in the test. Go to class! I only missed one class and a third of the final exam Qs came from that one lecture.

Love him, hes hilarious and kinda always appears to be tripped out. Class is not mandatory but I would go because the three tests (only grades) are based solely out of class and never cracked a textbook.

Possibly the vaguest teacher I've ever taken. He doesn't give guidelines or rubrics for anything and if you don't write your article reviews exactly the way he would, you won't get anything higher than an 82. I had him for another class in person, but he definitely leaves a lot to be desired in the online format. He is also known for his hissy fits

Rob is an amazing teacher. I truly enjoyed this class. If you need it take it with him! He made the topics interesting and understandable. Please attend class and take notes on everything he emphasizes, it is essential to passing! Overall he is an awesome teacher and really cares for his students. TAKE THIS CLASS!
