Brill was interesting to me, but i could tell my classmates thought he was boring. The majority of the class information is told during lecture. I missed one class and got a whole letter grade down on the midterm because i was missing information. He doesn't put his material on canvas, and you probably wont know your grade till the very end.

Brill is an awful professor. He is very inconsiderate and can't stay on a specific lecture so you never know what is test material. Very rude and opinionated but can't speak your opinion. He's always late to his classes but will talk behind your back to the other students if you are. He's all in your business and hard to reach outside of class.

Awful. simple class if you take notes, but he gets on tangents so you have no clue what is test material. proffesor is a complete jerk. does not use canvas so hard to keep track of grades. very opiniated. always thinks he is right, and you are wrong. would never reccomend brill. always comes late but berates you if you are late. gets in ur business

very attitude driven. Pay attention in class and should be fine. Test were not bad at all. Only had like two assignments and two test and still don't know my final grade due to him not having a canvas page.

He got off topic all the time and was more of a history teacher than a humanities teacher. You never know your grade during the semester which makes it hard to know what you're doing right and wrong. Some of the things we learned I did not understand the point of.

Brill was a great teacher. Participate and show up and you WILL pass. He acts like he doesnt take a attendance everyday but he definitely does. Sit up front and interact during class, youll pass. I had absolutely NO prior knowledge of humanities and went to a Christian school that did not teach anything we learned in this class. I got an A.

Prof Brill is great. Sit in the front row, interact with him and you'll be fine. If you skip, he acts like he doesn't take attendance, he does. But, If you are a serious student he is an easy A.

The class itself was very easy and the tests were common sense. The professor on the other hand, was terrible. Although he is very educated on various topics, he is arrogant and makes students feel stupid when they ask a question. He is very strict on cell phone usage and says that attendance is mandatory even though he doesnt take attendance.

The professor was extremely rude. He didn't hand you a paper? You get lectured in front of the whole class for not saying something to him. He shows up late, and keeps you past the time class should be over. He rambles about things that have nothing to do with the material and he doesn't explain the material well. I learned nothing in this class

Prof. Brill was really nice and cultivated. He didn't hesitate to ask for my French experience and knowledge to illustrate his lectures. Very interesting and fairly easy if you pay close attention in class. I recommend him and even more if you are an International Student. He'll be happy to have multicultural students. Merci!

Great teacher who gives you all the resources you need to pass this class. If you show up, take notes, and listen there's no reason you shouldn't do well. As with most things in life the effort you put in is equal to what you get out. I learned so much from his lectures. Very interesting and cultured guy. One of the most enjoyable classes I've had.

I took Professor Brill for Intro to Western Humanities. Most boring class of my life. Easy class if you show up the days he decides to lecture, the test are easy enough. He gives a sheet with "study alerts" which is essentially vocab you need to know. However if he doesn't go over everything he expects you to figure it out on your own.

Comment:
Mr. Brill is obviously very educated in humanities material, however his ability to relay that information to students is lacking. We have done very little besides talk about random stuff that has nothing to do with the tests/exam, he talks to us like we are idiots and doesn't use his time wisely. Do not take if you want to enjoy your HUM class.

His class is fun and interactive and he likes putting up visuals on different topics. Don't talk that much between his lectures because he can be a little controversial at times. In-class notes are crucial; if you want to pass, please take notes. He hands out study guides on vocab which are super helpful and ensure a good grade. Good professor.

I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED IN THIS TEACHER. I took this class and absolutely loved it. I got good grades on everything. I took the final and left knowing I had aced it (which I did). His lectures are enthusiastic and funny, so it really should be an easy A. I received a D. He NEVER got back with me about what happened, and I even went to the dept. head.

Brill is a very passionate professor. He isn't too clear about what is going to be on the exams, but does give an exam review. He mostly has vocabulary on his exam. He shows up late to every class exactly 15 minutes, so you don't need to get there on time.

You can tell he truly cares about what he's talking about, and I admire that. However: he is an ass to everyone who isn't as enthusiastic as him. He likes me, because I enjoy/understand the class, but he's a bit snarky to other students. And he expects you to comprehend information the first time it's given, so be aware of that.

He has a strange personality that I didn't think I'd be able to handle for the whole semester, but he kind of grows on you. The class is easy, his lectures are hard to forget & easy to understand, so studying is easy. Not many tests and he gives a pretty thorough study guide, but you have to be there for lectures and watch the videos to pass.

Professor Brill is a cool calm person and his class is primarily lectures. He gives you a study guide but taking quality notes during his lectures will prepare you for the 3 tests far better than the study guide will. Only 3 tests, 2 quizzes, and 1 paper. Would recommend if you are interested in the material otherwise you will be bored
