Presentational speaking is usually not fun for most but Dr. Martinez really just focuses on your individual progress and grades accordingly. As long as you listen to feedback and prepare for your speeches you're good. She also makes lectures fun with funny stories and good conversation.

Over half of every class was just her talking about her personal life, and the other half was spent on her political opinions. Don't mind if this is relevant to the course, but it never was. I didn't learn anything from her, only the books I read outside of class.

A funny and engaged woman. Knows so much about the topic and is all about individual improvement with public speaking. She honestly made the class enjoyable and inspired me to want to take more COMM classes. I would definitely take her again. As long as you listen in class, you will know what to do and how to make an easy A.

She was very fun to talk to and cool to have as a professor. She kind of just talks and you dont really have to take notes. Just make sure you do well on speeches and study vocab words for the test and you should be fine. Hardly ever used the textbook though.

Comment:

Took the class in the spring. Talked a lot about her kid,family,schooling. Which was not related to the class. So that a sore point in the class. Needs to refine teaching style to make for a more interesting lectures. But overall, not bad, not good. Just okay. Would not take again, though.

Everybody hates this class, but it is not because of the teacher. She's cool, she just happens to teach a required class that nobody wants to take (Speech, bleh).
