I took all 3 of her classes, honestly she is not as bad as all the reviews make her out to be, yes there is a language barrier, but her classes are the best example of, "you get what you put into this class" most of the students hardly bothered showing up, so of course they are bitter about their grades. Engage with her and she will help you.

Comment:

Any class taught by her is yours to fail. She knows more about sound than anyone I have ever met. If you actually sit down and have a conversation with her and have open lines of communication you will get a good grade. She is more than willing to help you pass her class. If you think her classes are hard you havnt done the work necessary to pass.

Comment:

Her accent is nearly impossible to understand, and she barely describes what needs to be done for assignments. Spends the 2 hours of class time making you work on pointless example assignments and makes you spend hours outside of class working on the actual projects. If you ask a question, you won't get a straight answer. Would NOT recommend!

Avoid this teacher at all cost. If you have to take it with Wang, be prepared to self teach yourself the entire time. She is impossible to understand in class and she doesn't teach the necessary skills required to complete projects. She just refers you to online tutorials... Good Luck..

1.Did not touch equipment for almost the first month of class 2.Supposed to have weekly quizes; first quiz posted was in mid-March. 3.Extreme language barrier; counterproductive to instruction. 4.Too high of expectations. I felt belittled and humiliated when she would lecture my group for 10+ minutes when we made a mistake.

Wow.... At all cost, avoid this teacher. Her quizzes are near impossible and she teaches as if the students already know the material as well as she does. She is not that hard to understand but is not very clear on her expectations(which are extremely high). Good luck.

This class isn't as bad as everyone's making it out to be, but yes, she IS really difficult to understand. Even if you can decipher what she's saying, it still may not make sense. Her Blackboard quizzes can be difficult to figure out, AND they're tough. Make a friend, trade off on going to class, and you should make it out with a B-

She's impossible to understand, and gets rather frustrated if you don't understand her. She yelled at me numerous times during the semester saying "You should already know how to do that." or something relating to that, as I wasn't completely sure what she was saying. She grades unfairly, and doesn't explain her reasoning very well at all. AVOID!!!

If you can understand anything she's saying, you won't be able to understand anything she's teaching. She is very knowledgable, but doesn't belong in the classroom. Grades extremely hard compared to student comprehension.

If you find it difficult to understand people with thick accents, be cautious with this one. I could understand her almost 100% of the time, but I'm special. Sorry, this professor is very knowledgable but not for everyone. If you want someone that is very knowledgable, I would give her a try. She will work with you, and knows she can be difficult to understand.

Wow, good luck with this one. I don't judge her because she's chinese, that would be stupid, but it's SO hard to understand her and it's not the accent I mean. Her class is only fun because you make fun of her a lot
